Interview Meme & Ask me some questions

The Interview Meme is going around on my flist again. This time [livejournal.com profile] dahliablue asked me five questions.

1. Which movies were key inspirations for your interest in film making?

The original Star Wars trilogy back in the 70s and 80s were a huge influence on me. The first Star Wars film was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater at 6 years old. I know it's almost cliche now for filmmakers to say Star Wars influenced their career choice, but it's inspired (and will continue to inspire) many generations of directors, cinematographers, Visual Effects artists, etc. It was the original Star Wars film that made my mom buy some movie magazines, which I looked through endlessly. They had tons of articles about how the film was produced and I ate it up. Over the years I just never lost the interest in how films are made. It's only grown over time.

2. You're stuck on an island and can only have one CD/album to listen to. Which is it?

You're a cruel woman! One CD???? *meep* Can it be a mix CD that I made? *hopes* Even that would be tough. Okay...one album, huh? *thinks about massive CD collection* Alright, considering I'm stuck on an island, and it must be some kind of prison island because only having one CD is torture! - I'm going to go with something inspirational and soothing. The soundtrack to "Seven Years In Tibet". It's one of my favorite movies and I love the soundtrack!

3. (I'm totally stealing this question from [livejournal.com profile] azuremonkey, but I'd like to hear your answer for it)
- What kind of project do you wish to see Jensen in?

In my dreams, it would be to act in the movie script I've been writing. *g* Every time I sit down to write now, I see him acting it out. Okay, back to the real world. As proud as I was to see him challenge himself by acting in a stage production, only certain people were able to see it. I guess in a greedy fangirly way, I'm saying I'd love to see him be in some big films that would be shown worldwide and that would make his career really take off. I'd love to see him in another film besides "Devour", which he was very good in. So if I was going to be totally selfish I'd say some big blockbuster films that I could see him in. But it seems he enjoys the smaller, independent films, and really, that's okay too. So maybe a little mix of both? Some big films and some smaller projects too. There, that's my answer. Phew! I took long enough to get to it, didn't I?

4. What are the best and worst things about creating picspams?

Great question! Worst thing first: the time it takes just to cap, fix, upload, and finally make the post itself with comments. If you read my Anatomy of a Picspam it details all the steps I go through. The best thing would have to be the pleasure of giving something to the fandom and getting such wonderful responses from everyone. I really love reading all the comments I get. I practically soak them up like a sponge! Even though for the most part I'm pleased with the caps I make, to read that others like them too is just the best reward in the world. It makes all the time and hard work worth it.

5. If you could invite any 5 people (living or dead) to a dinner party, who would they be and why?

I'd have to have Jensen there (of course!). I'd love to know what his other interests are away from the TV set. The second person would be my dad, who died last year. There was so many things we should have talked about that we never did. I'd give anything to have that time back. The third person would be the Dalai Lama. He's such an inspirational person, plus, I once read somewhere that he watches the old TV sitcom, MASH. I love that show and I can just see us talking about our favorite episodes. *g* The fourth person would be Steven Spielberg because he's one of the best directors and filmmakers today. I bet I could learn a lot about the business from him. And the fifth person would be Rick Nelson. He seemed like such a shy, and quiet person, but I'm sure once you got to know him he was very personable. Plus, you gotta have music at a dinner party and who better to sing some songs?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not going to post the meme itself because I did it already a while back. I had some people leave me coments for it and I still haven't gotten back to them with their 5 questions yet. *facepalms* But I'm working on it, honest. Each time I post some replies I'm getting closer and closer to getting caught up. Yay!

Instead, I'll do this since it's been a while...

Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. It can be about me, filmmaking, my interests, my dislikes, music, movies, TV, whatever. :)
