June Photos
Here's the rest of the recent pics including the ones from my birthday drive. :)
1. June 7th and we'd been out to eat supper with my aunt and went over to the Des Moines Marina as the sun was setting. Sadly, there was a bit too many clouds and by the time we got down there the sun and color was pretty much gone, but I snapped a couple of pics anyway.

2. This is looking up the beach to the north. Zoomed in super tight to get this one.

3. June 13th, my birthday and we headed across Puget Sound on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and wound our way past Bremerton and then here, to Poulsbo. This was taken with my new, wide-angle lens, btw.

4. As was this one, just zoomed in a bit.

5. This is also at the little marina park there in Poulsbo. I remember being here as a kid and eating under that shelter.

6. A boat coming into the marina.

7. This is the Hood Canal Floating Bridge, west of Port Gamble. Again, this was taken with the wide-angle lens to get the whole expanse.

8. Part of the bridge and the beach.

9. The houses along the beach to the east.

10. I think this is a cool shot.

11. Another favorite. I spotted these 2 boys skipping rocks on the water and liked the composition of them with the bridge in the background. :)

12. Back closer to home, this is the Port of Tacoma with Mt. Rainier peaking out above the clouds a bit.

13. Big ship in the harbor. Btw, those cranes are some of the biggest in the world.

14. A tugboat pulling a barge in with the Tacoma dome in the background on the right.

15. These were all taken from the parking lot of the Cliff House restaurant for those who know where that is. A view of the marina below me and to the east.

16. Close up of those huge cranes.

17. Love how this pic of Mt. Rainier turned out. And within seconds it was almost all covered up by the clouds.

18. More of the Port of Tacoma. The sun was setting at this point.

19. The Tacoma Dome on the left and the SR 509 Bridge on the right.

20. Next we quickly moved onto Dash Point Park to catch the sunset.

21. It wasn't overly colorful, but it was still pretty.

22. I took as many pics as I could.

23. That's another tugboat and barge on the water.

24. Pretty wide shot with the sun rays.

25. It kept changing pretty fast.

26. I did end up tweaking these a little in Picnik, but very little.

27. Mostly straightening 'cause I was out there without a jacket and it was cold and I guess that made it hard to hold the camera level.

28. And I always have trouble with vertical shots because it's hard to look through the viewfinder with my glasses that way. This one I actually got straight.

29. And I did notch up the color only a tiny bit. This is how the colors really looked.

30. I like these vertical shots with the waves lapping at the beach.

31. Another pretty wide shot.

32. A shot of only the waves on the beach in the fading light.

33. Heh. This guy... I had basically quit taking pictures at this point because the colors were fading fast, but this dude walks past me, sets up his tripod (I didn't use one) and proceeds to take some photos. I'm not sure what he was really getting 'cause the sunset was pretty much over. So I took a pic of him 'cause I thought he was kinda silly. :P He had all that equipment (even 2 camera bags!) and all I had was my DSLR. About all I did was prop my arm against the metal railing nearby for a little stability. I didn't need a tripod. Pbbbbbt!

34. Nice shot of the flag in the fading light.

35. And again with that last little bit of the sunset.
