Quickies 15 - Flist Edition

:: What is up with LJ today? When I visit certain pages of my own journal or of others I get a warning about a Trojan from my Avast Anti-Virus. Anyone else getting this?

:: At the grocery store yesterday I had a guy walk past me and utter "Howdy there neighbor!" Nice and friendly, but I've never seen the guy in my life. Awkward, much? I ignored him and headed in the other direction.

:: Also at the grocery store, mom & I were at the check-out and I was waiting to put our stuff on the conveyor belt thingy when the store "helper" (I really have no idea what her title is) came up and suddenly started putting our purchases up on the belt. I said, "I was gonna start doing that" and she answered back, "Great. We can do it together" OMG I was simply waiting for the guy ahead of us to move up a little. I don't like to crowd people and he was standing right there, sort of in my way. I did not need help, nor did I want it and I felt her stepping in was very rude! I ranted about it in the car on the way home for quite a while. I mean really! I'm not helpless and I don't appreciate people helping me when I don't ask for it and don't need it! Grrrr!

:: Bought S1 DVDs of both Scarecrow & Mrs. King & Leverage yesterday. Mom & I started watching Leverage last night (at my insistence) and I think she likes it. ;)

:: Started reading "Life's That Way" and I'm finding it hard to put down. I hear Jim's voice in my head with every word and appreciate his raw honesty along with his gentle humor. It's already brought me nearly to tears a couple of times and I'm barely into Chapter 2.

:: So glad I can finally stay home for the first time since last Sunday. I was out every day, Monday through Friday, running errands for my aunt or my mom. I really got very little of anything else done which is frustrating. Doesn't help that I've been in pain all week, which leads me to...

:: The night of March 4th I had just settled into my chair by my desk when I realized I needed something from the desk that was kind of out of reach (don'tcha hate that?). Being a lazy idiot, I decided to reach for the item instead of doing the right thing and properly moving to where I could get a hold of it. I stretched out, felt my neck and shoulder strain and got the item. Didn't really feel too bad and figured it'd be fine by the morning. And it was fine...until 2 days later when it started hurting. And so it's been for the past 6 days now. The left side of my neck, upper back and shoulder are in a near constant state of pain. Wearing my bra with the shoulder strap resting over the offending shoulder is like wearing a torture device, but I wear it 'cause I'd be uncomfortable without it. Sometimes I slip the strap off my shoulder for a while, which seems to help. Yesterday I wore a heat/pain patch on it for the first time to help get me through the day and it sort of helped. I'm wearing one again today, but my shoulder was quite painful right upon waking up. I'm resisting taking Tylenol or other OTC pain relievers 'cause I really don't like taking that stuff anymore than necessary. If the pain gets super bad I will try taking some though. Mom (who just learned of this yesterday) said that if this doesn't start to get better soon I'll have to go to the doctor. Bleh. I hate doctors, so I'm hoping this heals on it's own.

So that's been my "fun" for the week. Owie. And to top it all off, yesterday I whacked my right wrist against the iron chair my mom has out in the kitchen (she sits on it while fixing her meals so she's not standing on her sore, arthritic knees). So now I've got a sore right wrist too . Peachy. :(

Yep, I'm the walking wounded right now. Didn't make my exhausting week any better that's for sure. Today my shoulder is really painful even with this patch. Might be time to cave in and take something. Bah.
