Walking: Stupid Weather!
I knew it would be a rainy day. No problem. I knew it might be windy. Okay, as long as it's not too serious that's okay, too. I knew a stray thunderstorm was in the forecast. Alright, but that could be anywhere, right?
Wrong.
I headed out and it was raining. I figured, okay, as long as it doesn't get worse, I'm cool with it. Well, it did. It started blowing, then hailing! Hard! Yikes! That was when I decided this was a monumentally BAD idea. However, I had to keep going a little further so I could get to a street to head for home. The temperature dropped fast and it kept on with the wet hail. Soon my jeans were completely soaked and I could feel that my shoes & socks were, too. I headed for home and my legs were starting to ache. Must have been from the added weight of the jeans, along with my haste to get home pronto. The rain was coming down in buckets! Coming around the last turn for home, there was thunder, nice & loud. Eeep! That's when I started praying for God to get me home safely, 'cause I was carrying an umbrella and it's part metal, of course. I don't normally pray, but every once in a while I feel the need, you know?
I'm thankful I got home safe. I stripped out of my wet jeans, socks, and shoes, and put on clean, dry ones. Sheesh. Bad judgement call on my part, but still....stupid weather! I really wanted to walk today. Looks like tomorrow won't be much better. In fact, they're calling for a stronger chance of thunderstorms. Peachy. Looks like I won't be walking until Wednesday at the earliest. *sigh*
