Quickies II - Flist Edition

*** It's snowing again. We're getting hit by a big storm this time. They're predicting 3 to 8 inches to fall in the Seattle-Tacoma metro area from now until sometime Sunday. There's high winds, especially on the foothills of the Cascade Mountains ([livejournal.com profile] meagansworks, I'm thinking of you - hope you'll be okay over there. *HUGS*) It's also very cold. I went out to bring in the mail and even bundled up as I was it was bitterly cold at only 20 degrees (and who knows what the wind chill was). The snow was blowing at me from the east and I didn't linger outside any longer than necessary. Got my butt back inside the warm house as fast as I could. :)

*** The local weather forecasters are still debating whether we'll have a white Christmas or not. Some say the temps will warm up into the upper 30s and others say we're going to stay cold with a continued threat of snow. But right now, it's not looking good for getting together like we always do with our relatives. Most of them have to drive here from Seattle or Everett and the driving conditions have been bad since this whole mess started a week ago yesterday. Looks like it'll just be mom & I walking over to my aunt & uncle's house for Christmas festivities. Not what we were hoping for, but what can you do? Mother Nature has decided to dip a lot of the U.S. in cold and snow. We'll make the best of it, whatever the weather decides to throw at us next.

*** My LJ notifications for comments have been coming into my Yahoo Email really weird lately. Most comments have the correct timestamp, but a few of them are off by several hours, so they pop up in my email and I have to scroll way down the list to get to them. Weird.

*** Luckily, being house-bound for a week hasn't been all that bad. And goodness knows I don't want to be out on the roads right now. We talked to my aunt & uncle on the phone today and he had gone out to mail some Christmas cards and said there were abandoned cars everywhere along the roads. Yikes. We've got enough food to keep us going for a while yet, so we're good. State officials are urging everyone to stay home and off the roads because of the icy/snowy conditions.

Time to go back to working on my Christmas letter that we send to relatives across the country. Then I'll be getting back to sending E-cards to all of you! *squishes flist* Everyone stay warm wherever you may be that's getting hit with the snow! *hugs*
