It's actually improved since I checked it out the first time. They've wisely provided the option of turning off the infinite scrolling and you can even upload a background or use a straight color. There's also settings for adjusting the text size and changing the color of the subject header area.
So if you didn't like LJ's redesigned Friends Page before, I'd suggest giving it another try and check out the customization options. After all, we'll probably all be forced to use it in the future.
