It's interesting what you discover while trying to do something else entirely...

I was attempting to finish off my timing of the Sam & Dean hugs from SPN Season 15 for SuperWiki (yes, finally!) and thought I'd check out my own episode reviews to help me.
Problem.

The last review I did was for SPN 15x08!!!! Way back in January of 2020!!!!

So now I need to catch up on 2 SPN projects!
I'm telling ya...life has seriously taken over. Not only has it interfered with posting regularly, but it's made me forgetful.

Which makes me wonder...
What other projects on LJ have I left unfinished??? *sigh*

Wow! Eighteen years here on LJ. It all began with SPN, of course: first lurking around and then finally starting my account, then joining communities and connecting with people. Ah, the good old days! I do miss them. So thankful that some of you are still around.

I updated the look of my journal a bit for the summer. :)

Been thinking about doing another SPN Name That Cap Challenge.
Anyone remember that? It's been 2 years. Anyone up to playing?

With Walker (sadly) ending, I hope to have a little more time on my hands for posting here.

Hi all!

Finally took some time to re-do the look of my journal: replacing the Xmas stuff for more...Feb/Valentine's Day stuff. Yeah, I know Valentine's Day was today, but I wanted a look that wasn't winter, but not quite spring yet either. So this is somewhere in between IMO.

I'm also planning on answering all of your comments from this year. Yeah, finally.
I do NOT want a repeat of last year where I didn't end up replying back to anyone. My apologies about that.
This year I'm going to do better!

Edit: Ok, I didn't get to replying to comments tonight, but I will do it tomorrow.

2nd Edit: Done! Ok, the only post I haven't replied to comments on is the Dreamwidth Poll one, but that's because I'm currently having keyboard issues (specifically the middle row of letters) and trying to make long replies using the Mac's Keyboard Viewer is kind of a pain. So I'll get to replying to those Dreamwidth comments...another way.

Hello...long time, no hear, I know.

I realize that in the past several months my LJ posts have dropped off a bit. My schedule is such right now, that I often don't even get online Wednesday or Thursday nights anymore. My Just 'Cause posts are not the daily thing they used to be. Sadly, I don't see this changing anytime soon.

However, I have been taking steps to increase my posts a bit.

SPN may be over, but I've got a TON of things left to post for it. If you knew the number of misc. videos alone that need to be capped....yikes!

And then there's capping the episodes themselves, which I've never been able to complete. Well, I'm a completionist and I fully intend to cap every SPN episode. And only a few seasons of SPN have been fully capped (10, 13, 15). So there's a lot to do.

Fortunately, I'm providing the caps for Fangasm on Twitter as she's currently doing a big SPN rewatch and reviewing each episode on her website. We didn't hook up right away, but I started capping for her with the end of Season 1. She's currently about in the middle of Season 2. So for me, this is a great way to get the episodes capped and help out a fellow fan. Btw, I'm also sharing my Walker caps with Lynn and the folks at WinchesterFamilyBusiness.com for all of their reviews.

I know what you're thinking...we haven't seen any of these episode cap posts (outside of Walker).
I hope to start posting them real soon!

See, I realized something was holding me back from posting the SPN episode caps, which is actually kind of silly. I'd been making a fanart piece for my cap posts, with the name & # of the episode and all that. Problem is, these take time to make. Time that I don't have in abundance anymore. Again, the completionist in me says I should continue the tradition....but the realist in me is saying, "The hell with that!". My cap posts don't NEED fanart "headers" or whatever you wanna call them. All I need is a sample cap outside of the cut and it'll be fine ('cause we're all attracted to pretty & a post without something visual is just plain boring!). So instead of letting a little thing like a perfect post header getting in the way of posting things...I'm going to make it easier on myself and thus share things with you all a bit faster. Better for everyone! ;)

I just checked, and the last time I caught up on replies was at the beginning of August. Long overdue! Been feeling so frustrated and down on myself because it seems like I just can't get anything done. So hopefully this will help.

Sorry about not posting this morning, it was late and I was tired.

Now that SPNLV weekend is over and I'm mostly done collecting tweets from the con, I can start to catch up on other things, like replying back to comments. That's what I'm about to do right now.

This coming weekend I'll try to catch up with posts on my Friends Page. I know I'm way behind with catching up on what you all have been up to.

Decided to update the look of my journal with a new layout! :D

It's the Colorful one. Yeah, what an original name, LJ. :P
But it's also very cool because as I've found out, you can actually adjust this layout quite a bit. Yay!
Hence, the background tile. Whoo-hoo!

Anyway, I felt I needed a change from the dark, moody dark blue layout I was using before.
Time to brighten things up for the summer!!!
*Note to self: Hey, how about changing out your Spring icons for Summer ones. Hmmm???*

I've got a nasty headache I've been battling all Thursday and I'm just not feeling all that well (thx body for that-time-of-the-month). Hopefully, I'll be feeling better for Saturday's posts.

Now that we're officially in summer hiatus from the show, I've finally got my butt in gear and am planning out my projects for the next several months.

After many months I finally finished sorting/deleting the 13x19 Highlight Caps. Believe me, this was no small feat! There were originally over 1,400 caps! Ugh! I'm usually okay with the step of sorting/deleting, but when there's that many caps it's a humongous chore! So I kept putting it off. Not a good idea, I know. But now with hiatus, I knew I needed to get it done. So I'll be posting them soon! :)

I also Highlight Capped 13x22 and it's the first time I've capped an episode since last Sept. sCo_blink

My hands cramped up a bit, but at least I didn't overcap that episode, only 1,180 caps. Phew!

Not only was I uploading videos of the shows I attended at our state fair back in September, I was also fixing and converting more VanCon 2018 videos. I'm finally into the SNS ones, which included Jensen singing his 2 songs. *squee* :D So I posted a little sneak peek image on Twitter.

Did a big LJ layout change to fit the season.

Originally I was going to use the Spring House layout at long last, but I didn't like how narrow it was (and there's no way to widen it). So I went looking online for a custom layout and found this great Autumnal one (https://layout-lounge.livejournal.com/)! There's a pretty Christmas layout on that site that I'm thinking of using for December.

Of course, I forgot to save my sidebar coding so all of that is gone. Grrr. Stupid.
Ah, well...don't need it for this layout anyway. I'll just rebuild it from scratch next time I need it.

So because of the custom layout, I won't be able to see your likes/hearts of my posts. Sorry!
They might still show up on my journal summary that I get in my email each day though. *hopes*

Real life is crazy and busy right now (and this heat wave isn't helping) and I've fallen behind in my capping duties. This means that I need to take a little break from my usual, weekly LJ posts. I'm all caught up on posting the Perfectly Timed Credits Caps from Season 8 and I need to fix & upload the rest. I'm behind on fixing Beginning & Ending Caps for Season 7 so I can start posting those.

I'll keep up the daily Just 'Cause posts for the week, of course, but anything else will depend on how much time I have each evening.

Oh, I'm also trying to figure out how start up another round of the SPN Name That Cap Challenge.

It's been a long, tiring week, my friends.

I watched SPN 13x22 and enjoyed it...I think. But I wanted to get it watched so I could go on Twitter and not worry about being spoiled anymore. But the whole time I was watching the ep I kept thinking "Somebody please KILL LUCIFER ALREADY!!!" - but it didn't happen. *sigh* Anyway, I think I need a 2nd viewing so I can be more level-headed and objective about the ep. 'CAUSE I REALLY WANTED LUCIFER DEAD ALREADY! Grrrr!!! So sick of his whining and complaining and manipulating. /rant

Oh, and I've got my full-speed internet back so....happy times!
And I managed to not do the few things I can do with slow internet. Fail!

Anyway, I was hoping after watching the ep and seeing the trailer for next week's season finale that I'd have a clue as to what's going to happen and...NOPE! Still no idea! *heavy sigh* Another week of trying to figure it all out and failing. Goody.

Okay, looking forward to a relaxing Friday (finally!) and semi-relaxing Saturday & Sunday: Resting my sore shoulder, catching up with online things, doing my ep review, and hopefully doing more capping...'cause that's my thing. ;)

Felt it was time to change things up again and switch to a brighter layout for my LJ for spring/summer.
Had no idea this layout was so customizable! Very cool. So I'm using one of my many saved background tiles. Glad I already moved those all to SlickPic from Photobucket.
I can use a header again, so I dug up an old one. Actually, all my headers are old because sadly, I haven't made any in years. Have to get on that, methinks.

Put in a new (actually old) Mood Theme and of course, it took forever copying & pasting in all the URLs. And then they're not all showing up. *sigh* Whatever. It's enough...for now.

With the SPN Name That Cap Challenge 5 coming to an end this week and show currently on another mini-hiatus, I find I'm suddenly without much to post to LJ.

So that's why I've been posting so many VanCon Jensen photos lately. That and I initially made them for my Jensen Birthday post and then didn't use them. :P So that's why they're all of Jensen. I can hear my Jared fangirls wondering, "What about Jared's photos?". I can fix some of those up, too. If you y'all want me to.

Anyway, I'm looking to get back to 1 cap series: SPN Beginnings & Endings and SPN Perfectly Timed Credits.
I have a bunch of Season 6 caps made for Beginnings & Endings, but only the first 14 episodes, and I'd like to have a few more done before I start posting. As for the Perfectly Timed Credits, I only have the first 4 eps capped. Yikes. So I need to buckle down and just dedicate some time to capping Seasons 6 & 7 for these 2 series. That way I'll have more to post. ;)

I'm also working on Sorting/Deleting my 13x13 Highlight Caps.
Still need to Highlight Cap 13x14 & 13x15.
Yeah, thank goodness for this hiatus. I might actually be able to catch up! :P

Realized that I yet again missed posting the SPN Name That Cap Challenge on Friday. Gah! Sorry everyone. It's for sure a sign that this challenge needs to end when I keep forgetting about it week after week.
Went looking online for some of the old SPN Mood Themes and did find that a few are still around. Sad that none of them seem to go past Season 4 or 5. It's like everyone who used to make Mood Themes for the show just up and quit everything after Season 5. Does anyone make Mood Themes anymore???

However, when I'll take the time to upload and install the Mood Themes is another matter entirely. Such a Major Pain to put in custom Mood Themes into LJ! I found 15 Mood Themes...not sure I'll actually use them all. Some are actually new to me.
Just realized that not only does SPN return this Thursday! but it'll be Jensen's 40th birthday as well and of course that's worthy of a Major Special Post. But what? That's the question. So not ready for both of these events this week. How did they sneak up so fast???
Since I can't really work on adding new locations over at spn_locations without using a ton of my precious internet data, I'm trying to get things going over on spnconcatalog instead. Specifically, I'm trying to find a way to transcribe con panel videos on youtube. I've found a site that works, but...only on the first 15 minutes of a video. *sigh* So that's basically half of a J2 Gold Panel. It would be helpful, even if it wouldn't be complete (or entirely accurate) but I figure when you're dealing with transcription any bit of help is useful. There's also a 2nd technique that I haven't tried yet, but probably will. Stay tuned.
I've saved a bunch of images from Instagram and I'm now making some icons from the SPN/J2 ones. Yes! Icons! Remember when we made icons in this fandom? I know, it's been a long time for me as well. Hopefully I haven't lost my touch!
Based on the poll I did on Friday, looks like most of you are all for me doing a Friending Meme. So okay then! I'll aim for posting one on Monday.

It's been a long time, but I've changed my LJ's layout completely. Gone is the custom background, coding, etc. And sadly, so is my pretty J2 header, but ah, well. I was able to rebuild the pretties in my sidebar, so at least there's that to enjoy. ;)

I would have changed my Mood Theme, but I've lost most of them thanks to the big PhotoBucket shake-up and I've done enough coding and changes for right now. I'll try to re-upload all the Mood Themes (or at least most) to SlickPic in the future and reintegrate them back into LJ.

So why the change?

Every now and then you've just got to change things up and explore new avenues. Plus, I like seeing how many hearts I get for each post. :D I couldn't see them at all with the custom layout I'd been using.

I'll probably keep this Blue Fence layout for a bit and then change it for the summer to something lighter and brighter (I've already got one in mind).

Was busy overnight capping 3 Season 7 episodes for various things. Forgot how tiring capping that many episodes in one go can be. Phew! Started to get capper's cramp. :P
I also did an initial Sort/Delete of the Highlight Caps for 13x10, but I think I'll have one more go through to eliminate just a few more. So many characters! Gah!

Anyway, I thought I'd post a quick little preview of the Cap Sets that I'm currently working on, or just made. Just a little taste to share what all I'm working on (or most of it anyway).
