A bit of a rant ahead.....you have been warned.

At the Wrap Party on Sunday, one of my film friends told me she mentioned my name yet again on the new film production she's working on. Did I want to be Script Supervisor again? Yes. She was going to email me when she got home that night. I then heard various discussion about the film over the next few hours. Didn't learn that much though. This is what I got...

It's called "A Right To Bear Arms".
It's got a lot of violence...and maybe some nudity (though said nudity was then described as a guy with his shirt off....ooookay).
This one actor is described as very cute and must have quite the body based on the way the two of them (my friend & her friend) were going on about him. Hee! :P
Oh, yeah....and shooting starts Wednesday. Yikes!
There's at least 3 SAG actors in the production.

So I get home from the the party and sure enough, she's emailed me. She gave me the email of the person I should contact. I promptly sent out an email saying I was very interested and sent along my brief resume. I expected to get a response early the next morning, so I headed to bed early. Got up the next morning, got online and....nothing. No email. Hmmmmm.... So I waited....and waited. The afternoon goes by and I'm still waiting. Come early evening I decide to email again, just in case my original one didn't go through for whatever reason. Within 15 minutes I get an email back from the gal...she's in a class right now and will get back to me....and she is interested. Great, good to know. But the evening goes by and there's still no further word. So I figure this morning, right? Wrong. I get up and my email is empty. No new messages. Gah!!!!!!

Filming starts tomorrow! What are they going to do? Wait until tomorrow to let me know? And of course they're filming in Seattle. I don't live all that close to Seattle. It's not like I can just be there on the set in 10 minutes. *sigh* This is frustrating. I want the job. I don't want to turn down another opportunity, but these people are driving me insane!

I've gotten the impression from this and past experiences, along with talking with others that this is the way the film industry is in the Seattle area. Or at least how working as a Script Supervisor is. Everything is very rushed and last minute. These film productions don't think of SS as important. It's an afterthought. It's the final production meeting....days before filming...."Oh, yeah....I guess we could use a Script Supervisor". Never mind that the SS you hire would like some kind of info. about the film before he/she shows up on the set!

I don't know what the film is about. I'm assuming from the title that it's about guns. *shrugs* I've got no script, no filming location, no call time...nothing. So now I've got another day and possibly evening of waiting for an email that may or may not come. Question is...do I email again? I'm tempted to email around 5 or 6 in the evening because this is ridiculous. If they want me for the job they need to give me some time to figure out where I'm going and when.

I'm going to try and do something productive now while I wait and keep one eye on my email. *sigh*
