Sunday, January 25th, Supernatural's cast and crew lost their patriarch, executive producer, director, and friend, Kim Manners. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and to everyone who ever worked with the great and talented director.

Looking over Kim's list of credits, I realize that I literally grew up watching TV series which he directed. His greatest legacy can be seen in The X-Files and Supernatural, where he left his mark with so many indelible images on our TV screens. His trademark close-up shots are a beauty to behold and have shown our favorite characters at their most intimately emotional moments.

I can imagine how broken Jensen, Jared, and everyone associated with SPN are right now. From my own experience on film sets, I know how everyone comes together as a family. You spend so many long hours with people, seeing them at their best and their worst - it bonds you in ways that are hard to describe. Kim will be greatly missed....by everyone at SPN and by all of his fans.

The great master has passed, but will not be forgotten.
