I think about Vancouver Con practically every day. Really. Every day. Well...except for Monday when I was all depressed, but other than that.... :)

Can you tell I'm excited, eager, bouncing off the walls silently? :D

I grabbed this banner off Creation's website, saving it when they showed Misha. *g*

I've been doing a ton of research and preparation and after printing out said info. I decided yesterday that I needed to get it organized.

So I give you.....*cues triumphant music and booming announcer's voice*

The Vancouver Con Planning Notebook

Within are five sections: 1) My doodling pages of notes about the con tickets, hotels, etc 2) Info. about EDL & Passports 3) Hotel comparisons & info. 4) Maps & Satellite images of the hotels, including the convention hotel 5) Convention FAQs and schedules for past cons.

Put together the snazzy cover last night. Yep. I'm a geek. :D

* There's a couple of complications which might keep mom & I from getting across the border. It's official papers, stuff like that. I can't believe I don't have acceptable papers to prove I live in WA. Bah. I'm trying to avoid getting passports because they're so damned expensive, but I might have to go that route while mom gets the EDL/ID. At least we'd save some money that way.

* I've got 4 hotels picked out, but one is my clear favorite right now. It's close to the convention hotel (though not as close as a couple of others) and I plan on walking to the Wall Centre. It's about 5 blocks. Once it gets a little warmer I intend to start walking around the neighborhood to get ready for said walking between hotels.

* Totally drooling over a cool new DSLR camera I've seen at Best Buy. I was looking into a camera upgrade from my Kodak point & shoot before the con, but now I'm planning on getting one to fully document this special event. I also hope to use the camera in my future work. Been looking at various Canon & Nikon cameras, but the Canon EOS 50D has me enthralled. So many features, great in low light, sharp photos, low noise. *gushes* It's beautiful. I've tried it out at Best Buy a few times and it feels and acts like a real 35mm camera like I used to use. *loves*

* We still haven't decided how many days we'll stay up in Vancouver. There's a possibility of doing a little sight-seeing while we're there....including driving out to the studio in Burnaby before we leave. *squee* When I first mentioned it to mom she said, "I figured you'd want to go see it. In fact, I was going to suggest it." Hee! Love it when my mom goes into fangirl mode. :) We might explore Stanley Park and/or the Queen Elizabeth Gardens since we went to those before, many years ago when I was just a kid. I still remember the Queen Elizabeth Gardens a little bit with that big conservatory dome. Either way, we might stay 4 or 5 days.

That's it for now. There'll be more updates later. :)
