This semi-local story irks the heck out of me.

A family in a funeral procession was pulled over by a deputy and given tickets for not wearing their seat belts. It took the deputy 12 minutes to write 5 tickets & by the time they got back on the road they missed their sister's funeral.

KOMO 4 News: You pulled us out of a funeral procession

I respect the law and wear my seat belt every time I'm in a car, but c'mon! When you've lost a loved one and you're on your way to their funeral, you're not exactly thinking straight. Why not give them a warning, get them to put on their seat belts, and let them go on? I don't care if the deputy wasn't giving out warnings, there's such a thing as human compassion. These people missed their chance to pay their last respects, to say goodbye and that's wrong. Far more wrong then them not wearing seat belts, IMO.
