The thrill of the hunt
Aug. 10th, 2009 02:14 amI don't usually toot my own horn (too much...heh), but to paraphrase Ruby..."Even you have to admit, I'm awesome!" :D
I can't believe my sheer luck at finding this location. It's the church used in S1's "Hook Man". I didn't have a name. I didn't have an address. I didn't even have an area! All I had were caps I took from the episode of the interior and a shot of the exterior at night.
After a lot of Google & Bing searches, I decided to search Flickr because I've been having a lot of luck finding photos of these places there. All I put in was "Vancouver bc churches" and after some 10-15 pages of photos....I found it! *happy dances*
It's St. Helen's Anglican Church in Surrey. The exterior photo and my cap from the episode matched perfectly.
Wheee! I love this. Hunting something for so hard and long online and then victory! It's a great feeling. :D
Now if I could only find which church they used for those interior shots at the beginning of "Salvation". 'Cause it is NOT St. Andrews on Burrard that they've used several times. *goes back to hunting churches*
Edit: Guess what? It IS St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church in "Salvation" after all! Flickr comes to the rescue again! However, the scene wasn't shot in the main part of the church, which is what was so confusing to me.
