Fandom crazies amuse me

Before I went offline last night I checked out
spnpermanon, just 'cause I was curious. I occasionally see what's going on over there when I get bored. Sure, it's the home for the crazies in SPN fandom and I tend to avoid those people, but sometimes you just gotta know what they're going on about right?
Low and behold, there was an actual thread about little ole' me! :)

I actually feel honored. It's like I've truly been initiated into the fandom now. LOL! :P
When I read the thread I found it quite laughable. MS Paint? Really???? You can't do a darned thing with that tiny program, much less edit photos or create fanart. What a joke! It's more for doodling and silly stuff. I've never used it for fanart. I use Picnik, which is an online image editor. I know most people use Photoshop or Gimp and use a lot of fancy filters and stuff and that's perfectly fine. I can use those programs (and have in the past), I simply choose not to.
And the idea that I'm a homophobe because I don't like people using slashy icons on my journal is crazy. The only reason I have that rule (and I think it's a pretty small request considering...) is because sometimes my mom has read my LJ posts and people's comments to them and I really don't want to explain some of the images people use. They don't bother me, but try explaining that to your over-70 yr old mother. Yeah. I had to briefly explain slash to her because of last season's "The Monster At The End Of This Book" and even that was awkward. So I don't have issues with homosexuality, but I do when it comes to exposing my mom or any of my relatives to it because some of them are less tolerant. Honestly, I don't know where my mom's opinion runs, but to avoid conflict with her, I figure it's best to avoid the subject as much as possible. And besides, this is MY LJ and I believe I'm well within my rights to ask that certain images not be used on it.
So there you have it. I see their points as weak and pathetic really. Goodness knows I've gotten much worse criticism elsewhere.
