Some pretty photos of Puget Sound
Aug. 27th, 2007 12:11 amAs I mentioned in my earlier post, my mom & went for a little drive late Saturday afternoon. We went to a couple of our favorite spots: along the water of Puget Sound by Tacoma across from Browns Point and Point Defiance Park, also in Tacoma.
I snapped some pics and after a rainy day we were treated to a very pretty afternoon, especially the sunset. Got to try out the Sunset setting on the new camera and I'm very impressed.
You're right along the water of Puget Sound here by the port of Tacoma. That's Vashon Island across the Sound.

We look a little to the right, and that's Maury Island in the foreground.

This is a closeup of one of the pretty hanging baskets they have along the waterfront. Lots of petunias!

Caught this big container ship leaving Tacoma and heading north through the Sound. That's Browns Point behind it. Love the golden afternoon sunlight in this pic!

Now to my real favorites...the sunset pics. These were taken in Point Defiance Park and you'd never guess that the wind was just buffering me around. Luckily there was a fence to lean on, but the setting on the camera helped a lot!

This one's my top fave. The color's were their most intense here. *hence the shiny new icon*

A lovely closeup with the tree branches. You can just see some of the Olympic Mountains in the far distance on the right side.
