These are just my first impressions of the season's fourth episode. My full-length review with caps will be posted later. This just gives me a chance to express my initial thoughts about the episode and touch on a few highlights.

With each of these First Impressions posts I'll include a little cropped cap from the episode. I decided to do something different and make them b&w.

Consider this fanart. If you take it, please give credit. :)

* Oooh! The clip about Sam not being 100% pure Sam in the recap! This is gonna be good! *rubs hands together in anticipation*

* How sexy does Dean look working on the Colt? Oh, yeah! So cute when he laments how sad it is to see it in pieces too. *pets him*

* Love seeing Sam smiling so much! *pets happy puppy*

* *squee* It's the Something Wicked suits! Well, at least Sam's is. Can't remember what Dean's suit looked like exactly.

* I like Richie, but I gotta wonder what his purpose in the episode was. He didn't really have any info. to tell the guys except about Trotter, but other than that he was just comic relief.

* Man! Jensen looks so hot in that shirt & tie! *GUH* Pardon me while I fan off my smoking TV.

* "Run Through The Jungle" by CCR....awesome! Perfect choice of a song for this scene. *giggles over Dean stopping by the prostitute's car and Sam dragging him away*

* This bar is definitely Dean's kinda hang out, especially with a hot bartender like Casey.

* Hero!Dean! Whoohoo! The guy wasn't a demon, but still...

* The boys split up AGAIN?!?! You'd think they'd learn that that's not a good idea by now.

* Sam gets the funny scene again this week. His awkward run in with Trotter & his bodyguard was hysterical. Love his adorable, nervous smiles and hasty retreat. *giggles*

* Whoah....wouldn't we all love to whisper something in Dean's ear?

* Wow! These demons are getting smart. Now you can't even trap them and try to exorcise them. Cool effects, btw. Oh, and Dean speaking Latin? Still as hot as ever.

* Poor Dean trying to speak the exorcism text from memory. *giggles* I seriously doubt even Sam could pull that off. They're usually pretty long and there's different versions anyhow.

* Awww....Sam looks so anxious and worried wondering why his big brother isn't showing up at the bar.

* Kinda cool seeing Ruby again. I'd sure like to know what she did to help Bobby make the Colt work again.

* I can't remember exactly what order things were mentioned in the Dean/Casey scenes, so I'll just sum it up here.
- It was interesting hearing that Dean would like to believe in God.
- A little shocked over the Dick Cheney bit...pretty bold for this show.
- I think Casey spoke the truth the entire time, proving yet again that not all demons are the same. Even Dean realizes this in the end when she tries to save him from her mate.
- Great acting by Jensen as Dean finds out what hell is going to be like along with his response after she asks if he's scared to die in a year. Yeah...Dean's scared. No doubt now.
- We finally learn that ol' Yellow Eyes had a name!
- You can tell Dean's even more worried about Sam now that he knows he was supposed to lead the demon army. That, coupled with the prospect that Sam's different is really starting to bother him.

* Sam's panic at finding the sulfer in Casey's house was so touching.

* Had a feeling the kind padre wasn't all he appeared to be. Sammy! Be careful!

* The car ride conversation is interesting. Like how he was feeling Sam out about being a leader. *hint, hint*

* Ouch! Sam gets thrown into a car this time ala Dean in DT.

* And Dean's the one getting strangled. Ha!

* Once again, Sam coldly kills. I think this shows the lengths he'll go to save Dean. Interesting how their roles have reversed yet again. I have more theories on this btw, but I'll save them for a separate post.

* I like Dean's concerned questioning about Sam's behavior to Bobby. Both of them knowing something's probably not right, but unwilling to admit it even to each other. Oh, and I loved how Dean said "my brother" when he asked instead of using Sam's name. Awww...

* At least Sam is feeling some regret after the fact for killing those two people. Again, I have some ideas about Ruby's reasons for helping Sam. Oh, and is it just me or does she look a little different in this episode? Particularly this last scene?

Phew! Just to let you all know, I typed this up from memory 2 days after watching the show. Like Dean said..."Not bad, huh?" Heehee! :D
