I can remain silent no more...

This is the most difficult post I've ever made. I entered into LJ and the SPN fandom when things were happy and peaceful...now it's a war zone. I'm thankful for the friends I've made, but as some of those on my flist have opposed one another, I have remained trapped in the middle. I've held my tongue, reading the posts, the angry words, and kept silent. I could see the validity of each side, but again...I stayed out of it. I can't do that any longer.

Whatever problem you might have with a certain person and her comm, it doesn't give you the right to steal it away from her. ckll is my friend and I will not apologize for that. I have not had any of the problems with her that others have posted about. I've read them all, the rants, the accusations, the attacks. From my viewpoint, most of these have come from misunderstandings and rash reactions - often from both sides. It escalates until an all out war of words erupts and people are defriended, with anger and resentment all around. And yes, the language barrier is sometimes a problem. If I can see that, why can't anyone else? This situation is painful to me because I feel trapped in the middle. I can't choose a side because often times both sides are on my flist. I like them both, I see both their sides, but I can't do anything.

I won't name names, but several of you on my flist have had your problems with ckll. I like you, I like ckll. I prefer to leave it at that. I may be selfish, but I don't want to lose any of you as my friends. So I've stayed out of your squabbles.

Now ckll has been shut out of her own comm, dean_sam. This, I cannot condone. It's wrong. If you have a problem with a person in charge of a comm, you discuss it rationally or you leave the comm. Stealing it from her and banning her is not the right course of action. Posting as if ckll left of her own free will is equally wrong. At least be honest about what you've done. dean_sam has always been an open place for all to post. I was welcomed there with open arms and was happy to join. Now, my future with the comm is questionable. I want to see ckll back in control of the comm she's worked hard to maintain.

I can only hope I've made myself clear. I know there's going to be some of you who agree and those who will disagree with me on this matter. That's your right. If any of you feel the need to defriend me over this, I cannot stop you. But I hope you will see my side of all this as well. I could have remained silent, but these recent actions have pushed me too far. I will remain friends with ckll. Perhaps I understand her where others don't. I'm not sure. All I can say is that she's been nothing but kind to me. If you think I'm a bad person for being her friend, then so be it.

I honestly wish I could heal the rips that have torn into the SPN fandom over all these angry words. This used to be a place of love for our show and the actors. Now it's full of angry attacks and taking sides. It's sad to see this happen.

To my flist...hugs to you all. I hope you all stay with me, even if you don't agree with my views. I am staying with you. Just because our opinions may differ, doesn't mean we have to be at war or hurtful towards one another. Discussion and open communication are the keys here. I hope we can all remember that. *hugs flist & hopes for peace*
