A time to relax & reflect
Dec. 26th, 2007 06:52 pmIt's the day after Christmas and it's recovery time. Time to sleep in, take some Tylenol for an achy head and body, and cuddle up in a nice soft, cozy sweater that smells simply wonderful. Ahhhhh! So now I sit here, the lit Christmas tree in view and reflect on the events of yesterday...
*** The snow we got was short-lived, but pretty all the same. We only ended up with about one inch, and while the weather forecasters said we needed an inch for it to be deemed a "white Christmas", it was good enough for me. It was cool to see big, fluffy flakes coming down. Here's a couple of pics taken during the height of the snowfall...

*** A few of the relatives couldn't make it to the festivities this year because of the weather and other circumstances. *iz sad* However, the rest of us had a good time.
*** Everyone was thrilled to hear about my pending graduation. It was fun to give them all such good news. :D
*** Christmas Dinner: Tavern Ham, Home-made mashed potatoes, Cornbread dressing, brown gravy, green beans, & corn. Dessert: Pies!!!! Pecan & Cherry (I had cherry!). There was chocolate cheesecake, too.
*** We don't give presents anymore, just cards. Everyone either has everything or can more easily get the stuff they want themselves. We talked and laughed and generally just had a nice, quiet holiday.
*** After a few members left for home, my mom, my aunt, and I played a couple of rounds of Chinese Checkers. We haven't played it in years, so it was great fun to do it again. Then my aunt taught me how to play regular checkers (sad, that I never learned it before this). I beat her, too! And no, she didn't let me win. She said I learned the game quickly. :D
So that's our Christmas. Not terribly exciting, but we had a good time. Now it's time to relax, catch up on my flist, and my comments. Hope everyone had a nice holiday! *hugs flist* :D
Mmmmm....I think I'm ready for some pie! *grins devilishly* :P
