I never thought I'd be making a friends only post, but something's happened and I need some advice from my selected circle. *hugs flist*
I believe many of you will remember the Early Jensen Picspam I posted on Jan. 15th?
Well, on Sunday, the 21st I got a comment to that post from someone I can't recall seeing in the SPN LJ fandom before. If you scroll down to the last comment on that post you'lll see it. This person kept her comment brief: "lovely! I also love ur icon! may i use???".
I was using the icon you see on this post, "JensenLaugh". As many of you may know, I make all my own icons from either my caps (like this one) or from the many official promo pictures that circulate on the web.
So this person asked to use my icon...fine. Except that she didn't wait for me to respond yes or no! She's now using my icon! You'll see it in her comment on my post...it's my icon! Not only is she using it without my permission, she renamed it and made it her default icon! It's all over her LJ page!!!! And she gave me no credit whatsoever.
So I'm mighty steamed over this. She basically stole my icon. Something I made is now hers even though I gave her no permission to do so. If she had done the right thing and waited for me to respond, I would have given her the okay to use my icon - provided she gave me credit for making it.
My question is, what do I do about this? I don't want her to be using my icon anymore. In my eyes this person is basically a thief. Have any of you run into this problem? If so, how did you handle it?
I would really appreciate any advice any of you can give me. I need your help oh wonderful flist!
