Bleh. I feel like I got nothing done yesterday (Wednesday).

Got up early and called about the tickets for Vancouver Con. I was so surprised that I didn't have to wait on hold for a while like last time. Got my Set Tour ticket and my Photo-Ops with Misha and Jim. Yay!!! So that's done. Plus, my mom's certified birth certificate arrived (in only a week!), so now we can start getting our Passport Cards. Things are starting to fall into place which I find a little shocking and all the while I'm trying not to worry because goodness knows it can't keep this up, can it? Something will surely happen to mess things up so this whole Vancouver Con won't happen for me. Yes...this is me being my usual worry-wart self. Ignore me. :P

Anyway, things are suddenly moving forward, which means I'll also soon be badgering you guys with questions. I've already got a list. :D

After getting the phone call made I needed to walk over to my aunt's house to water her garden. Since my uncle's passing, she needs help in this area, since he was the one who did all the garden maintenance and she's not physically capable. She's even paying me a little, which I protested against, but yesterday I feel I really earned it. The temps were nearly 90 degrees and it was quite hot. Even though they don't have a big garden, it's still the front yard and the back, which took some time. Several times I had to come in the house to sit and cool off. We've got a schedule set up now for me to come water on Wednesdays and Sundays. As long as this weather stays warm the plants are going to need it.

Came home, cooled off some more, ate supper, dinked around online, and basically got nothing else done. Now I'm all listless and meh. Mostly tired. I think the heat zapped a lot out of me. Not used to it, I guess. And now it's already getting late and there doesn't seem much time to do anything. Plus, I'm rambling about it in this post, which seems silly. So I'll shut up.

Comments. I need to take care of those. Guess I'll do that.
Thanks for putting up with my rambling. :)

See, that attitude right there? That is why I always get the extra cookie.

Four seasons and this is still my favorite Dean line. I giggle every time, just thinking about it. :D
Got to a few comments, but have more to do. Not looking forward to another day of warm/hot temps, but what can you do? It's the weather. You take it as it comes. Somehow I'll see about getting some actual LJ-type stuff done, like prepping future posts. But now....bedtime. If I can tear myself away from reading fanfic, that is. *sigh* Oh, don't forget to watch SPN's rerun of "In The Beginning" tonight! :D

Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok

I'm in shock. I grew up watching the original Kung Fu TV series. Then I fell in love with the second series in the 90s, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. I even read his autobiography, which is an excellent read, btw. What a life he had, full of so many experiences.

The man was a part of Hollywood royalty. His talent in acting and martial arts...I can't believe he's gone. The report says he was in Bangkok, working on a film and was found hanged in his hotel room. Why? I don't understand why he would take his own life.

My heart goes out to his family & friends.

I thought I'd share a few of my favorite quotes from Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, by David Carradine's character, Kwai Chang Caine. They seem very fitting now.

"Everything in nature leaves it's mark, even a gentle wind." (Dragon's Eye)

"To return to the root, is to return to one's destiny." (Sunday At The Hotel With George)

"We must live every moment. We must keep our hearts and our minds in the present. That is all we have." (The Bardo)
