Location Hunting: Report 1

Been working on my SPN Filming Locations list all day/night and I've got a headache to show for it. Ugh.

I'm making progress. I've gotten all the details on 13 episodes of S1 so far (I'm on "Shadow" now). That means I've confirmed addresses, found websites, maps, and satellite photos.

Trying to find the house in "Home" really had me at a standstill until I decided to give up on it for now. All I have are 2 streets and looking at them with Bing's Bird's Eye View, I didn't see anything that looked like the right house. On the other hand, I suppose not finding it is a good thing. What homeowner would want a bunch of fans coming by and taking photos of their house? However, I seem to recall seeing a photo a fan took from that location with the Impala and the camera crew. I have it on my PC somewhere....just gotta hunt it down.

That one roadblock aside, I'm having a lot of luck finding things. Even found that walnut tree orchard (I think!) outside of Fort Langley that was used for the apple orchard in "Scarecrow". Also tracked down Bordertown, which was used for "The Benders" and "All Hell Breaks Loose". That place really is way out there. No wonder the crew had trouble getting to it after it rained. Lots of dirt roads.

I think I'm gonna quit for the night though, 'cause yeah....head hurts.

Thank goodness for Safari retaining open tabs! Otherwise I wouldn't be posting this right now. Photobucket is having some issues and not loading. Grrrr. Anyway, we have lovely Dean to look at, profile and all! :)
If you've read my previous post, you know what I've been up to. It's slow going, but also enjoyable (despite my raging headache at the moment). I love the challenge of finding things and online research is fun for me. I hope everyone will find this list useful. I'm trying to make it as extensive and detailed as possible. :: Seriously loving LJ's new Notes Feature! I'm so forgetful about names and such. This is really gonna help me remember who you all are. :D

:: Actually woke up at a decent time today and so far...no napping! Woot! \0/ *iz so proud*

:: Is it just me, or is LJ super, duper quiet right now? Are there that many Harry Potter fans that they've all left on a wizard retreat? Come to think of it, I seem to recall this happening the last time a new HP movie came out. Sheesh. I'm starting to feel like the only one left on LJ.

:: The famed Sears Tower in Chicago is no more. It's been renamed the Willis Tower. Screw that. It'll always be the Sears Tower to me (& I bet a lot of other people, too). Heck, I don't even live in Chicago and I've known it as the Sears Tower my whole life. :P

:: Castle started filming it's 2nd season today! Wheeeeeee! Can't wait! :D

:: I miss having something to watch on TV now that Harper's Island is over. Oh, well. Maybe this means I'll get more real life stuff done, huh? ;)
