Just 'Cause
Jul. 30th, 2009 03:17 am
This cap is from S4 "Lucifer Rising".
Thought I'd post another one of our favorite other characters and who better than the awesome Bobby? :)
Now I wish I had a Bobby icon. How did I manage to not make one? :( Finished getting locations caps from S1, so I'm on to S2. However, two days of heat and hardly any sleep because of it has left me very sleepy and I'm off to bed now. Happy SPN Thursday tonight with the rerun of "Family Remains". *hugs*
Hell Week: Day Four
Jul. 30th, 2009 05:42 pmGetting through the heat of the day is a lot easier when you sleep almost 12 hours. Ha! :P
Hey, I was cool in my bed (well, comfortable anyway) with the fan blowing on me. Why get up?
I sense some, let's say confusion, over my rants with this heat wave. Allow me to clarify some things.
* I live in Western WA state. We have a very moderate climate, meaning we usually don't get overly cold in the winter or hot in the summer.
* On average, our summer temperatures are in the 70s and in the warmest range: the 80s. We VERY RARELY get into the 90s. If we do, it's for one day and then we're cooler again.
* Most of us do not have air conditioners in our homes because the temps don't get that hot here. We usually make do with some fans & cool drinks, or heading to the beach or lakeside.
* Seattle got to 103 yesterday. That's the hottest it's ever gotten here since they started keeping records in 1891. 1891 people! That's a long time ago. Shows how rarely we even approach temps that hot in the Puget Sound area.
In a nutshell, yes....this heat wave is very unusual for us and we aren't used to it at all. We know most of the U.S. & the world think we're wimps, but one of the reasons a lot of us live here is because it doesn't get that hot. So when it does....we whine and complain. It's who we are - deal with it. :P
Currently (at almost 6 p.m.) it's 95 degrees. I gotta say, it doesn't feel nearly as bad as yesterday. It's hot, for sure, but as long as I don't move too much and stay in front of my fan, I'm moderately comfortable. Word is that today is the last hot day and that even tonight we'll start getting some marine air in to cool things off. Yay!!!! The next 4 days are forecasted to be in the mid-80s and after that back down into the 70s. Aaaaaahhhhh. That's more like it! Can't wait! :)

Like I did last year, I'm saving webcam images (from Kat Kam & Numinous Numeriques) and posting YouTube videos of the 4 day competition. :D
This is from the third night, July 29th, with the UK and their theme of "Parasols Over the Pacific".
