I can't seem to help myself. I've just got to post part of my sequel fic that I've got typed out. What can I say? My Muse needs feedback. Think of it as a sneak preview. I'm sure it will change as I type up the rest of the fic, so this is by no means set in stone. Hopefully, it won't spoil you for the rest of the story.

Just to set this scene up...Sam's been staying at Bobby's place and Ellen is staying with them to help out. They've all been searching for a way to bring Dean back from hell.

Remember, this is still sort of a rough draft. Happy reading...

Sam sat at the table, books piled so high around him it was almost hard to tell at times that a person even existed behind the towering volumes. It was well after midnight and Bobby and Ellen had long since turned in for the night. They didn't even bother to tell Sam to get to bed anymore. It was a futile gesture. They realized that after the first week. Sam no longer had a schedule. He simply sat in front of his laptop day and night, occasionally eating and only sleeping when his body couldn't remain conscious any longer. The computer screen constantly illuminated his face, along with the fire he kept going in the nearby fireplace. To remember where Dean is. As if he could forget. Yet somehow it kept him company, especially at night when the house was quiet.

The fire crackled as Sam rubbed his tired eyes with his fingers. The words on the screen were getting blurry, but he had to keep reading. He'd keep at it until he couldn't keep his head up anymore. Fighting the urge to sleep, he yawned, already losing the battle with his exhausted body. Slumping in his chair, his eyes closed before he even realized it.

He smelled smoke and felt a warmth against his skin. Where am I? Opening his eyes he saw steam and pools of hot lava. Fires burned in the distance, filling the area with black smoke. Then he heard it....screams. Unearthly screams from close by. Steam blocked his vision for a moment and then he heard Dean's voice. It was weak, whimpering. Another cloud of hot steam engulfed him and suddenly Dean's voice was close, very close. It sounded like it was above him. Looking up through the smoke and haze his eyes met a terrible sight. Dean was suspended above him, face down and held by some invisible force. He was gasping in pain and Sam soon saw why. Blood was dripping from his brother's eyes, mouth, nose, and ears. Sam nearly collapsed onto the ground in shock and horror. Steam hid Dean from his vision for a moment and when he reappeared he was calling to Sam. Sam! Help me, please! The words, so pained, echoed in Sam's ears. He tried to reach out for Dean, but couldn't get to him. Please Sam....I....can't. Dean was nearly choking on his blood, the words strained. Please....Sam! Please.....help meeee!

Sam awoke with a start, his heart pounding and his body shaking. Blinking his eyes in the darkened room to get his bearings, for a second he swore he could still feel the heat and steam he'd just come from. Where had he been? Hell? Dean! The images and sounds of his brother in pain came flooding back and Sam held his head in his hands, his head pounding in time with his heart. The pain was familiar, even though he hadn't felt it for a long time....a vision.

A whimpered plea came to his lips, “God....Dean.” Tears formed in his still smoke-burned eyes. Had he truly seen Dean down in Hell? Was that what his brother was going through, or was about to go through? He was asking for Sam to help him, to save him and yet after all these days and nights of searching Sam still had nothing. Looking up at Bobby's cracked and dingy ceiling, pleading for some divine answer, tears streamed down his face as he called for help from the only one who had always been there for him, but who now needed him so very badly. “Dean!”

So what do you think?
