Warning! More Icon Thieves on LJ

0_i_t_y_t_0 and its 2 mods
t_w_o and
1_steal_icons. They are out stealing icons all over LJ and Insanejournal.
Their User Info over at Insanejournal says it all...
Taking icons without giving credit is disrespectful and rude to the person who made it. It can take hours to create an icon (I know this from personal experience) and it's wrong to just take that creative work and not give any credit for it. What is so difficult about taking a few moments to give credit where it's due? Their attitude is lazy and irresponsible! The main targets are icon communities, but I wouldn't put it past them to target individuals either.
So let's get the word out about these thieves! Spread the word to others on LJ and Insanejournal and to any icon communities. Maybe if we're lucky we can take these thieves down like Demonicangel last August.
Grab your saltguns and posse-up people!
Oh, and thanks to
apieceofcake and
trystan830 for the heads-up about these people. :)

Name: "Stealing" icons for your entertainment Theme: Picking out and posting icons without the need to credit them About: ABOUT Do you like icons? Hate the fact that you need to jump through the loopholes just to see them? Do you think crediting them is unnecessary? Would you like to have a one-stop "shop" for great icons of a wide interest without the "rules"? How about a community that showcases the best of the best, not just the kind anyone can get from (IE: from exclusive communities aka "closed" communities.)? Are so called "exclusive" communities excluding you because you have a taste for them (IE:"I will not add anyone who belongs to so-and-so community")? Do you wish to see those in this community? If so [info]i_take_icons is your community! Yadda...Yadda... NOTICE: "Oh noes! You're violating my copyright by posting my icon! *emo tear*" Um, no. Anything done from scratch is protected, a picture that is taken off from google and slapped with fanciful work is not yours to claim according to The Publishing Law Center (http://www.publaw.com/cfaqs.html). That means you're shit out of luck. |
