I just had to make a little reaction post/picspam for last night's episode. This doesn't count as my First Impression post, btw. That'll come over the weekend. :)

I don't want to talk too much about the episode except to say I think it was one of their best ever. It's up there with "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" and "Mystery Spot" as my favorites of the season. Lots of tension between the brothers, creepiness, some gore, scariness, some angst, and the usual touches of humor.

The part that really effected me though, was the promo for next week's season finale. I knew what to expect, but it still ripped my heart into pieces with that final image of Sam holding Dean's body. I've had a feeling for a long time that Dean was going to die, and now it certainly seems like it will happen. I'm happy and devastated by it. It's easy to want Dean to die for the good of the show, but to see it happen will be a totally different thing. I know I'm going to cry if it happens. He may be just a TV character, but it's easy to get emotionally attached to good characters and Jensen has made Dean a wonderful character.

Anyway, I literally gasped when that end part of the promo appeared on the screen. It was so visceral and painful to see. Watching Lost right afterwards, I found I really couldn't concentrate on it. I was still seeing Dean laying in Sam's arms, bloody. I just couldn't get into another program after that. The shock was still too fresh. So it seems like we've got a long, painful week ahead of us.
