A few old photos by me

raloriaI was searching around on one of my external hard drives the other day and found a few old photos I'd taken many years ago. I thought you might like to see them. :)
These were all taken with a little Olympus camera my Dad let me have from his collection. It was fairly simple to use and once he taught me the basics I was off and running. My Dad was the big photographer of the family (though both my grandpas and my uncle were/are very good, too). But my Dad would always bring along all his photography gear in a big case on our vacations. Tripod in hand, he would take some amazing photos and we all enjoyed looking at them when we returned home. Most of his photos are on slides, but mine are all prints (save for one roll shot on slide film down in Death Valley, CA).
Anyway, enjoy the old photos! These are from my first days with a camera in my hand. :)
1. This is the first photo I ever took back in 1985. Which means I was only 11 or 12 years old. It's of Carson Mansion in Eureka, California. As you can see, I got it a little crooked and I should have zoomed in some.
2. This is Mt. Lassen, also in California in 1985.
3. Mt. Shasta in California, with very little snow. Also from 1985.
4. Now for a different trip (1987), up north this time to Canada. This is a fountain at Butchart Gardens near Victoria, BC.
5. The beautiful Italian Garden at Butchart Gardens. I really like this photo. Good composition considering I was so new at photography.
6. I remember being so proud of this photo back when I took it. Doesn't seem as impressive now, considering all the other photos I've taken. A view across the Rose Garden at Butchart Gardens.
7. The magnificent Sunken Garden at Butchart Gardens. It was almost too late and too dark for this photo, but I made it work. Btw, the woman in the hat in the lower corner is my aunt (this was on a vacation with my aunt, uncle, and my two older cousins).
