Right after I post some headers & icons, I find a new resource to make more new goodies. *facepalm*

I came across this article about a new online image editor called FlauntR. It's very easy to use, like Picnik, but with a whole ton of effects, frames, text fonts, overlays, and more. Read the article to get a little tour and learn more. You have to register to use FlauntR, but it's free. It takes a little more getting used to than Picknik, but once you start exploring and trying it's very user friendly.

Some rants:
- You can't open bmp files. Grrr.
- It saves your finished images in the same format the original is.
- In the one mode (with the frames, etc.) if you accidentally hit the Reset button you're back to square one, no matter what changes you made in other modes. Bah!
- No fade control for the overlays.
- The Sharpen effect adds contrast to the image. Yikes! It's also not as finely tuned as I would like.

Some raves:
- Lots & lots of cool stuff compared to Picnik.
- Some really fun stickers in the Shapes section that I can just imagine putting on the back of the Impala. Hee! :P
- Nice text controls, which is usually sorely lacking in online image editors.
- Curves! Picnik has this feature, but only for paid accounts.
- Very nice Saturation control, which is weird since the Contrast and Brightness controls are a little awkward.

Those of you who tried and like Picnik, give FlauntR a try. It's the only online image editor so far that can compare to Picnik. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the 3 pieces I made. I think they turned out well, considering I was just experimenting. :)

Feel free to take any of these. My usual rules apply: Give me credit for them & lots of comments! :D

I lost my first image to that darned Reset button! Gah! So I ended up doing this instead. This is one of my cap from Bloodlust, done on the Mac with the VLC player (which means it's a png file that FlauntR will open). I kinda dig the filmstrip framing.

I really love this one! For a while though, it was looking like a disaster thanks to that Sharpen Effect blowing out the contrast. Eeep! But I found this other effect called Enhance that darkened and sharpened it right up beautifully!

I tried to make this into a nice header. The starburst is a nice overlay that actually worked (and I tried many). Had fun playing around with the text and numerous fonts.
