As you may or may not have noticed, there wasn't any Tuesday SPN picspam posted. Sadly, I don't think there will be any of the regularly scheduled picspams up this week.

I only got Faith capped over the weekend and just got the first couple of scenes fixed last night. The next DA ep hasn't been capped yet and neither has Thursday's picspam ep of Hell House. I'm once again woefully behind in my capping, but I've got a good excuse this time.

As you may have read in my last status report, my college classes have picked up and they've been taking up quite a bit of my time. On Sunday I had a full day of shooting with my small group of classmates for our short, 3-5 min. film, done on video. We started at 9 a.m. and didn't finish until around 7:30 that night. By the time we were shooting the final scenes of the day, we were all exhausted, but hoping that we had the makings of a good little student film. Because of the holiday on Monday (it was President's Day here in the States), I only had Tuesday to do the editing. It took 10 hours and I luckily got some help from the rest of the group, but we now have a finished film. It's called "Parole Mortali" (that's Deadly Words in Italian) and I wrote the script. Btw, the title name was an impulsive choice because nobody could come up with a proper title. Deadly Words was my original, but not everyone liked it, so we just did some fancy language translating. We turn the film in today and next we will reshoot the film on 16mm film stock. Since the video shoot was sort of a rushed job, the goal is to put more planning into the film shoot. I've already told the guys in my group (I'm the only female in a group of 3 guys, btw), that we won't be able to shoot the story on film in one day. It will take at least 2 because of the extra time needed for setting up the proper lighting needed for film. We hardly used any lights for our video shoot. It was basically just natural light coming in the house from the windows and a properly placed mirror to bounce the light back at the subjects. It really worked very well!

So I've had a full weekend, from preparing for the shoot, to the video shoot itself, and then to the editing process. Hope you enjoyed the little report about my filmmaking adventures.

Now, just because I don't have any of the usual scheduled picspams available for you this week, doesn't mean that you're going to have to do without. I've got a special little picspam just about ready to go that I whipped together and will post very soon. It should be up sometime later today (Wednesday) or early Thursday (depending on where you are). Keep a lookout for it!

Oh, and I've got to point out my new icon. *points to shiny new icon* I realized if I'm going to be making posts about filmmaking, I should have a proper icon for it. :D I love it that Jensen is showing so much interest in the camera. I originally thought he might be looking to be a director one day (as so many actors do), but now I'm thinking he's showing more of a leaning towards being a DOP or a camera operator. Either way, I applaud his desire to stretch out and try new areas of the business. Of course, I still want to see him continue acting because there is where he truly shines!
