Crack!Picspam: Eyeball Of Doom
Aug. 21st, 2008 04:32 amUm...*gigglesnort* I got this idea after some comments about my Eyeball Of Doom icon in my recent Icon Meme, including this one for Least Favorite from
hd_obsession: "eyeball of doom-only cuz it freaks me out yet makes me laugh haha". I was then encouraged by
moondropz to do this picspam.
I was honestly giggling at times while working on this. Once I started it sort of took on a life of its own. I can only hope that others share my wacky sense of humor. The Eyeball Of Doom icon is by far one of my favorite creations. It's such an amusing image and shows Jensen's expressive eyes in a whole new way. *g*
I've never heard of a crack!picspam, so this may be the first. I honestly didn't know what else to call this. :P Oh, and sorry about the big size of the first image. I tried to shrink it down, but the text got all distorted.
Let the silliness *ahem* craziness ensue...
The "Eyeball Of Doom", EOD, or sometimes called Oculus Orbus Consisto Fatum was first discovered in 2006. The first sighting was made within the Makeup trailer on the set of the TV series Supernatural. The actors of the show, Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki, along with Key Makeup artist Shannon Coppin and Key Hairstylist Jeannie Chow have shown no fear in the presence of the EOD. Truly brave souls.
Some have claimed an uncanny resemblance of the EOD to Jensen Ackles, but he was unavailable for comment about the confirmation of this rumor.
Since the first video was shot of the EOD in the S1 DVD featurette "A Day In The Life Of Jared & Jensen", it has been appearing online, specifically in the Livejournal community. It's been spotted frequently within the SPN fandom, at times striking fear or confusion into members of the fanbase.
Below are a few comments from LJ users who have encountered the EOD...and lived to tell the tale. Their names have been withheld for their own protection.
"I was just going through my flist and there it was in the comments. I was stunned. Luckily there were no lasting effects."
"It was in a comment left on my comm. I was afraid it might spread."
"I didn't think it would happen to me, but there it was in a forum I frequent. I'm not sure I'll be going back there now."
"I think it's cute. I'd like to have it as a pet."
"OMG! The eye! Don't look at the eye!!!"
Don't be caught off-guard. Beware of the Eyeball Of Doom.
A warning has been issued and there's a reward of extra cookies for any sightings of the EOD.

For easy identification, here are some photos of the EOD in its native habitat.
