I meant to post this on Jensen's birthday, but Photobucket decided to do their maintenance when I wanted to upload my caps....so it got delayed until now.

Even though I've been capping all the SPN episodes in alphabetical order for my Tue/Thursday picspams, I thought a special season 2 picspam of Dean was appropriate. So I used a lot of restraint (a lot I tell you), and made one cap per episode of Dean. I tried to cap an important moment in the episode, or one that resonated with me. All episodes of S2 are here except for No Exit because for some reason I couldn't find my download file of that episode. *curious* Guess I'll have to download that one again. *sigh*

Oh, and just for fun, I've also included 7 caps of Jensen from the Paley Festival footage.

These are the full-sized images - I didn't enlarge them very much because I wanted to keep their size manageable for my dialup connection.

Feel free to take any if you like. I know they'll go to good homes. :D I would appreciate a credit if you use them in picspams, graphics, etc.

Don't forget to leave a comment or two! :D

1. In My Time Of Dying - This was our first real look at Dean in the episode, waking up in a hospital only to find minutes later that he's become a spirit while his battered body lies in a coma.
Raloria's Reason: From a capping point of view, much of the latter half of the ep is done in near darkness, so those scenes were out. I almost chose from the last scene (the Secret scene), but his face had better light on it here. Besides, once again, even half dead, Jensen looks amazing.

2. Everybody Loves A Clown - This gut-wrenching scene would be just the beginning of Dean's disintegration in the wake of John's death. After lashing out at his beloved car, Dean stares into the distance, devoid of any emotion. We wouldn't know until later on in the season the great burden he carried.
Raloria's Reason: This scene always kills me. All that anger just erupted out of him from nowhere and it was painful to watch. Then the equally stunning aftermath of him just starring and not expressing anything was so sad. I felt like crying for Dean, since he wasn't doing it for himself.

3. Bloodlust - Back on the road with their first case brings the brothers into contact with vampires and a fellow hunter who incites Dean's violent side. After brutally killing a vampire, Sam looks at his blood-splattered brother in horror as Dean looks back with lifeless eyes.
Raloria's Reason: Seeing Dean turn a bit darkside was as scary for the audience as it was for Sam. Even though I was tempted to cap the last shot of Dean where he's leaning against the Impala and staring back towards the camera, I thought this image of a bloody and violent Dean was a more startling image.

4. Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things - After continually lashing out at Sam with violence and anger, Dean finally breaks down and confesses his feelings. Expressing his belief that their father died to save him, Dean states that his recovery was unnatural and that he should have stayed dead.
Raloria's Reason: Another scene that kills me with all of its angsty emotion. Jensen pulled out all the stops and delivered a beautiful scene.

5. Simon Said - As Sam worries that he may become like some of the other special children and take to killing people, Dean tries to reassure his brother that it won't happen because he "doesn't have it in his bones" to kill.
Raloria's Reason: Not only is this a pivotal scene in the ep, but it had some gorgeous lighting. This cap shows off Jensen's gorgeous green eyes, with them almost glowing as the light hits them from the side.

6. The Usual Suspects - After revealing the truth of the brother's investigation in a taped confession, Dean gets attacked by a cop for his cocky attitude.
Raloria's Reason: I think this one's fairly obvious....One of the sexiest moments of the season was seeing Dean shoved up against the wall and him uttering a small grunt as he's handcuffed. *Guh*

7. Crossroad Blues - Dean intends to make a deal with a demon to save a man's life, but when she discloses the fate that's befallen his father, Dean is tempted to make a deal with her himself. She exposes the truth about John sacrificing himself and winding up in Hell and taunts Dean with his own pain over his dad's death.
Raloria's Reason: This is another ep that's difficult to cap because it's so dark. I was tempted to cap the scene of the demonKiss, but it was just too dark to see properly. I was even guessing with this one. He looks so lost here...knowing his dad died to save him and wanting nothing more than to bring him back.

8. Croatoan - With Sam possibly infected with a demonic virus that's killed many townspeople already, Dean chooses to stay at his brother's side. Sam tearfully tries to convince Dean to leave him, but Dean won't budge, saying he won't want to go on without his brother.
Raloria's Reason: I've rarely seen a better scene of self sacrifice than this one. Sam wants to save Dean, but Dean can only think of being with Sam until the end, even if it means his own death. This cap comes from when Sam slams his cast down on the table in anger and frustration and Dean turns around. Once again, Jensen's eyes do all the talking here - showing the weight of the burden he's been carrying since the beginning of the season.

9. Hunted - With the revelation of John's secret about Sam, Dean pleads with his brother to allow him some time to decide what their next move should be.
Raloria's Reason: Jensen broke my heart as he brought Dean emotionally to his knees in begging for Sam to be patient. Dean is not a person who begs for anything, but he admits that he doesn't know what to do and telling Sam that their dad said he might have to kill him if he can't save him doesn't help. Jensen's eyes are unbelievable in this shot and his face shows nothing but worry, concern, and desperation.

10. Playthings - A druken Sam pleads with Dean to fulfill their father's wish to kill him if he turns to evil and Dean reluctantly agrees.
Raloria's Reason: This was my favorite scene of the episode and this shot of Dean looking into his brother's imploring eyes was an easy choice. Sam's asking him to do the impossible, but as usual, big brother will do what's asked of him by his family, (especially if he thinks he'll be able to get out of it later).

11. Nightshifter - As if being held hostage inside a bank with a shapeshifter on the loose wasn't enough, Dean also has to contend with an FBI agent intent on capturing him and his brother.
Raloria's Reason: In just a few moments Dean's day goes from bad to worse with this phone conversation with Hendrickson. The new bad guy knows all about the Winchesters and doesn't hold back in expressing his opinions, including making accusations about their father. One thing Dean can always be counted on to do is defend his family, even if they're no longer alive. This new foe is just another reminder that the brothers are truly outlaws.

12. Houses Of The Holy - With the brothers devided on the existance of angels and a higher power, Dean tells Sam of their mother's beliefs and how they failed to save her from death.
Raloria's Reason: As much as Dean wished that Sam could've retained his innocence in Something Wicked, Dean lost his innocence at a young age as well. His reasoning of why there's no such things as angels is understandable. Mary believed and she was killed despite them. Dean's confession of belief that the world is filled with nothing but random acts of violence sort of mirrors John's confession to Sam from Dead Man's Blood that after Mary's death all he saw was evil.

13. Born Under A Bad Sign - Dean's worst fears come to fruition as Sam is possessed by a demon and sets out to kill fellow hunters. After a failed exorcism, PossessedSam attacks Dean, revealing itself to be the demon which possessed Meg and who is now looking for revenge for being sent to Hell.
Raloria's Reason: Poor hurt and bloody Dean! It's bad enough getting beat to a bloody pulp by a demon, but it's even worse when it's using your baby brother to inflict the damage. And then it had to go into the whole "you're worthless" speech. *hugs Dean*

14. Tall Tales - Unbeknownst to the brothers, they're being affected by a Trickster, which is hampering thier latest investigation and causing them to bicker more than usual. As Sam tells part of his side of the investigation to Bobby, we see Dean stuffing his face full of candy.
Raloria's Reason: The face that launched a thousand icons! Well, maybe not a thousand, but I've seen a bunch of them. I keep wondering how many candies Jensen managed to get into his mouth. No deep meaning behind this cap, just loved seeing Dean's bulging chipmunk cheeks!

And now the Paley Festival caps...
