Dean's Journal

raloriaWarning! This post has spoilers for The Winchesters 1x13, so if you haven't seen it (and still want to) you might want to wait to check out this post.
After watching the Season 1 finale of The Winchesters last week, I was sort of surprised to see people talking about Dean's journal and about it being something we'd never seen before. That's because I believe we HAVE seen it before...way back in Season 1 of Supernatural!
I checked out SuperWiki and sure enough, there's no mention of Dean's journal except for in The Winchesters.
There is no mention of it at all in SPN 1x18 "Something Wicked", which is where I first saw it.
Just to make sure, I went to the episode and capped the scene where Dean pulls a journal out of the duffel bag and takes it over to the counter (where he's been doing research) and opens it up. It looks like the journal has a black leather cover, with a flap and a leather string wrapped around it. When Dean opens it, there is clearly handwritten pages visible.

For comparison, the journal we are shown in The Winchesters 1x13 to be Dean's journal is also in leather with a flap and understandably, thicker than the one we see in SPN. Still...it's very similar in style.

Thoughts? Do you agree that the journal in SPN 1x18 is Dean's?
