OMG....so tired/sleepy. Need nap. Need nap badly.

Got up at before the crack of dawn this morning, at 6 a.m. to drive to our location by 8. Got there and within around half an hour it was raining - heavily. Make-up got done while most of us stood around and watched the downpour, wondering when and if it was going to end. We ended up starting with a scene inside a parked car, with a canvas canopy over it to keep most of the pounding rain from hitting the roof. After a couple of hours the rain stopped and the sun came out. More time spent on special effects makeup before we started filming in the yard. The yard was....well....squishy. And in some areas downright boggy. Ugh.

Things were fine until our key actor did a first take where his character gets shot and lands on the ground. He ended up with mud all over his shirt and jeans! Major continuity problem as he isn't muddy like that in any of the following scenes that we'd already shot! We couldn't get another matching t-shirt and there wasn't time to wash them, so we continued on....the camera operator trying not to get the mud stains on camera and me getting frustrated and worried over this major problem. There was also some major continuity issues involving the fake blood stains and the trees in the yard which had turned color. It was fast becoming a Script Supervising nightmare. But still, we kept on. Our daylight was going quickly. We ended up filming the final outdoor scene practically in the dark. It was crazy. Then there was a final scene done in the house. Luckily, it wasn't really all that cold, though several of the actors were freezing when we were outside. It also didn't really rain on us again, which was good, but we battled against audio problems. From planes flying overhead, to a big soccer game going on nearby, dogs barking and even a neighbor with a leaf blower (who flat out refused to stop for our filming when we asked). It was one challenge after another, but somehow we got the scenes filmed.

There's only a few left to do tomorrow and then we should be done unless some pickup scenes need to be done later. But I'm beat. I'm going to check out my flist, take a little nap, print out today's photos, make today's cap post, and go to bed to do it all over again. Heh.

* This was the quote of the day according to our camera operator. He kept saying this to people whenever they'd make a mistake or accidentally mess something up a little. It was a running joke all day long. Hee! :P
