After posting a couple of icons yesterday showing the studio where SPN is filmed in Burnaby, Canada, I got some requests for the satellite images I used.


Things have actually changed quite a bit on Glenwood Drive over the years. It went from a dusty, empty lot, to a sprawling studio complex.

I've gathered a series of satellite images from Google maps & Live Search maps to show the progression.
These are all clickable thumbnails because the images are fairly large (around 1047 x 665).

We start with a pre-2005 view. This is clearly well before SPN, because there's no building in place at all.
A much later view. The main studio is there, along with a few other studio buildings. This first image has no street labels.
The same image as above, but with street labels.
A much wider view of the last 2 images. Again without street labels.
And again with street labels, showing the roads that lead to the studio.
Now we switch to my favorite images. These are Live Search's Bird's Eye View, which is much improved over a typical satellite view. It puts you at an angle and gives you a lot of detail...just as if you were a bird flying over the land. This first image shows a quiet studio - hardly any cars in the parking lot.
This one is from a different time. Not only is another building going up, but filming appears to be taking place. There's a lot of cars in the lot. :)
A much closer view of the main building. This is the oldest building in the complex. Lots of trailers, trucks and other vehicles. Whether the Impala is there somewhere I don't know....though I did look. :)
