Dark Angel Picspam # 10 - The Berrisford Agenda - Part 9

In Part 9: While held at gunpoint by Berrisford, Alec finally learns that Rachel didn't die in the explosion, but has been in a coma for the past two years. Max comes in to stop Berrisford from killing Alec just in time. Then he gets to see Rachel one last time.


All caps were made by me from the S2 DVD set and adjusted for size, color, contrast, and sharpness.

Part 9 -

I really like how they shot this with just their closeups and then a two-shot of just their heads in the frame. Berrisford's set to kill Alec, but he asks him what happened to Rachel first.


Berrisford: "They didn't tell you?" Alec: "No." Berrisford: "She saved my life. That's what happened. If it weren't for Rachel I would've been sitting in that car. But she wasn't that lucky. The blast knocked her unconscious. She fell into a coma. She never woke up."


"She's been dying for two years. Do you have any idea what that's like...watching somebody you love slip away from you every day? Do you have any idea what you've done?" The two years dying line has always been one of those that stuck with me from this ep. It's so simple, yet beautifully written and spoken by the actor.


Alec: "What are you waiting for? I deserve it. Kill me. Do it!" This reminds me a lot of when Dean yells at Sam to pull the trigger in Asylum. Love the gasp Alec gives after Max knocks Berrisford out.


Aw, the heartbreaking bedside scene. *wibble* Jensen just kills me here. The tears, the way he talks to her and says goodbye, the way he gives her back the necklace and then just holds her...there are no words for the talent he shows in this scene.


And then they have to go and play that sad piano music...*sniffle* "I should have tried harder, Rachel. I should've fought them." And the one lone tear....


There are no words...


"I didn't understand. I didn't understand how much I loved you."


That sob he gives...it's just so raw...


My God, it's a wonder the actress wasn't tearing up just from listening to him...


Not only do we get a lovely profile shot of Jensen, but look how delicately he places the necklace into her hand.


The way he's holding her hand in both of his is just beautiful.


I think my heart just imploded from all the angst. This...this is just pure, raw, pain and sorrow. I'll just be over in the corner...crying my eyes out...
