With each of these reviews I'll include 2 cropped caps from the episode. One of Dean and one of Sam. I decided to do something different and make them b&w.

I'm trying to get this posted as soon after the episode as possible, again by using caps made from my recording of the episode. Hopefully there's still some squee left out there. ;)
As you'll see, I've returned to the more rambly, comment-while-it's-airing type of notes. I've left them "as is", so you'll see a lot of missed punctuation and lower-case on proper names. I think they're better this way, more spontaneous and fresh.
Note: "==============" signifies a commercial break.

Tessa tells Dean that he needs to stop lying to himself, about having a 2nd chance...He knows something bad is coming up and she warns him to listen to his instincts.
Pamela awakens Dean....and starts bleeding.... :(

She wants to whisper in Sam's ear....she knows what he did to that demon who attacked her....warns him he shouldn't fool himself into thinking he has good intentions....
Poor Pamela....I knew she'd be the one to die....meep
Sam looks a little shaken...and naturally won't tell Dean what she told him.

Another stand-out episode to add to Season 4's roster. It met and exceeded my expectations. Felt so good to see new adventures with the brothers after another long hiatus!
I really don't want to go on and on about what happened in the episode. It's all there in my notes and it was great stuff all the way around. It was awesome to see Tessa again and have that reunion with Dean. I liked the guy playing Alastair, but why, oh why are we using the same Marlon Brando voice for the guy? It's weird. Are they having a guy dub in the lines for these actors in that voice? It sounds like the same voice we heard in 4x10. Very strange...and a little distracting. That's my only real complaint. Everything else was stellar, from the lighting and that cool blue tint while the boys were ghosts, to the acting which as always, was exceptional.
The boys still aren't talking, not really. Dean knows Sam's lying, Sam knows he's lying...the circle goes on and on. Sam can deny his siren-fed speech all he wants, but the more he continues to lie to Dean the more he backs up his brother's belief that what he said is how he really feels. Meanwhile, the overall emotional tone of the episode was dark. Dark in the sense that in the end we're told there is no hope, no second chances, we're all scared and there's nothing good coming at the end. I'm proud the show is taking things this far. Making the situation dire and dark for the boys. When dealing with angels, demons, and the coming apocalypse there's no sense in being light and fluffy. It's the whole, "things are going to get worse before they get better" idea, I guess. That's my take on it anyway.
I'm beyond excited about next week! It looks epically phenomenal on so many levels. I'm not going to mention details here. But I've seen the episode stills and I'm biting my nails with worry while I'm bouncing off the walls in excitement. I'm so torn! LOL! But new episodes are back, we have S5 in the future, and as screwed up as the brothers are right now, everything else is bright and shiny with our beloved show! *hugs it* :D
