Supernatural Spoiler Squeefest! - 4x17
Mar. 23rd, 2009 03:29 amIt's time to talk, squee, flail, and speculate about the upcoming new episodes.
The Rules: The idea for this series of posts is to discuss, debate, and yes, squee, about spoilers for SPN's next new episode. Anything is open here: script sides, spoilers, and rumors. All I ask is that everyone be considerate and well-behaved.
Warning: If you are avoiding spoilers of any kind, stay away from this post!

Let's talk spoilers!!! *squeeeeeeeeeeee*
What We Know:
Episode 4.17 - “It's A Terrible Life”
written by Sera Gamble and directed by James Conway
Official Description from The CW: Dean and Sam are living very normal and separate lives.
Dean is a corporate man who enjoys health drinks and listens to news radio vs. rock stations. He works at a company called Sandover Bridge & Iron Company alongside Sam who is in Tech Support. It seems as if the two do not know each other. However, after co-workers start committing suicide at an alarming rate, the two find themselves working side by side to solve the murders.
A slightly different description from Supernatural Hunters Addict:
The March 26 episode of “Supernatural” takes on an alternate life of Sam and Dean when they are not hunters. They are described as two different but very normal people who don’t know each other.

The episode is called “It’s a Terrible Life”. In its casting call, there will be a character named Mr. Adler, a corporate executive who is later revealed to be “a person with considerable supernatural authority, the kind of fella who can get things done.”
Casting Info. from SpoilerFix:
Mr. Adler: Will appear in episodes 17 and 18. In his 50s, a corporate executive with a casually commanding, paternal air. Mr. Adler is later revealed to be a person with considerable supernatural authority, the kind of fella who can get things done. Ian: In his mid to late 20s, a jokester employee in the tech support division of Sandover Bridge & Iron, he's a cynical cubicle jockey, likable, slightly sly, quirky (think Office Space) who likes to get his coffee breaks early and often. Ordered to "Human Resources" for an attitude adjustment, Ian comes back a wholly different man: clean-cut, nervous, utterly committed to the company's welfare, suicidal when he thinks he's cost the company petty change.
Spoilers compiled from the script sides from Supernatural Hunters Addict:
- Dean has gone missing… and he finds himself in an alternate reality where he is a Wall Street tycoon surrounded by a haunting that is forcing his co-workers to commit suicide.
- Dean loves driving a Prius.
- Dean has been wiped of his memories and convinced he’s an office worker named Phil by his boss, Mr. Adler (actually the angel, Zachariah, who got called to duty because of trouble with Anna or Castiel [played by Kurt Fuller]); he was trying to prove that Dean is destined to be a hunter regardless of everything else
- Sam is caught breaking into an office building by a Security Guard who ends up halved by a malfunctioning (via ghost) elevator
- Sam and Dean save a guy from an old man ghost (one Dean has already seen earlier)
My Thoughts:
:: I hope there really is another angel behind this whole alternate reality trip. One, it would be cool to add another angel to the roster (and if we can believe the spoilers he'll be in 4x18 as well) and two, who else could pull off something like this besides an angel....or the Trickster? However, I've heard we might see him in another upcoming eppy. ;)
:: The first thing I thought when I saw the promo for this at the end of last week's eppy and saw Dean's hair was that it looks just like Jensen's hair when he did the "A Few Good Men" play! LOL!
:: How exactly are we going to enter this different reality? I hope there's some idea what's going on before we're plunged into it. Mainly because, Dean was so broken at the end of last week. How do we get from that to this?
:: Jensen in suits....aaaaahhh...this is gonna be nice!
:: Based on the initial promo alone, it looks like Sam has some idea of who Dean is, that something is going on, but Dean seems very happy with his "present" lifestyle. Maybe because reality is far too painful right now. :(
:: Will this finally get the boys closer again? At least make them realize that they are a team and need to be working together again???? *hopes*
