More Real Life Drama

My mom & I were over at my aunt's house (wow, that's the fist time I've ever called it just her house....strange)....anyway, we were over there, helping out along with my two cousins (and eating supper) and they got a phone call that our neighbor, the man my uncle had gone to visit at the hospital on Wednesday had suddenly taken a turn for the worst. He'd gone in for his hip and had been doing really well. So we finished eating and I was going to drive my aunt back to the hospital to see him. By the time I brought our car over to drive her, they'd gotten another phone call that he had died. So my aunt and I still went back to the hospital to comfort his wife and family. It's just....unbelievable how all of this is happening.

Our neighbor was almost 92, but he had been fine at the hospital. He was recovering and things were looking good. But he suddenly started having problems and when they tried to put in a breathing tube, he had a heart attack and died. So now we have two families grieving.

Btw, my uncle was 72 and outside of the aneurysm in the back of his one knee, was relatively healthy. But he got the blood clot from that aneurysm and everything very quickly became life threatening. Now we know (from the doctors at the hospital) that the aneurysm was a problem from the start. He'd been diagnosed with it years ago, but his doctor said to just keep an eye on it, that it wasn't causing any problems unless it got real big. Yeah, well....so much for that lousy diagnosis. According to he hospital doctors it was big. So...there you are. A man who was vibrant and full of life one day is dead three days later. It's still tough for me to wrap my mind around it all.


On another note...my back is a little better. Still sore, but hopefully in a few more days it'll be back to normal. I'm going to try to get my review of 4x20 posted now. I don't like being so behind in things. Other than that, life is now very topsy-turvy and I don't know from day to day what's going to be happening.


I can't thank you all enough for all the love and hugs you've been giving in your comments. Even if it's only me getting the benefits (my relatives don't know a thing about LJ) it does help and means so much to me. You're all so wonderful and sweet and I'm lucky to have such great friends. *HUGS*
