-Castiel will be a regular next season, but Anna and/or Ruby could die in the season finale. [Kristin]
-The series is storming toward next season's climatic struggle between the angels and their brother, Lucifer, for no less than the fate of the world. That will be the final battle. [EW]
-Ben Edlund tells us that Lucifer will be more of a looming presence than one specific personage. The real villains of the piece: Sam and Dean's lady friends, Ruby and Anna. [Kristen]

I'd say this is probably completely false. As someone who commented to the post pointed out...Making a crossroads demon deal to bring John back doesn't make any sense considering he escaped from Hell in AHBL pt 2. Not to mention the fact that getting JDM on the show is very difficult.

With Lilith on the verge of breaking the final seal, Bobby does the unthinkable and visits the crossroads to make a deal to bring back John Winchester. Armed with Ruby's knife he forces the unwilling deal maker to bring John back. Now, the three Winchester men along with Bobby and Ruby set out to stop the half pint demon once and for all. When Lilith surprises them with a resurrection of her own, Ruby visits the final resting place of Samuel Colt to even the odds. An all out battle ensues, the entire army of demons that was unleashed at the Devil's Gate appears, our little army appears to be defeated until Castiel returns with an army of his own to wage an epic war against evil, but will it be enough to stop Lucifer from joining in?

Eric Kripke Interview with info. about the season finale: Supernatural Scoop: Get Ready for the Apocalypse

My Thoughts:

:: Common fact: Lilith is the only one who can break the final seal. Ruby told this to Sam in the previous episode and based on the final DC clip for this episode, Dean learns the same thing from Zachariah. So, take out Lilith to stop Lucifer from breaking loose and bringing on the Apocalypse. Both boys are going to be working on the same task. Question is? Who will be successful and at what cost?
:: I'd also read another rumor that Anna would give Dean some angelic powers in this episode, but right now, it's not even clear that she'll be in this eppy. The promo looks like Castiel does something to Dean, with the hand on his forehead and the bright light, so maybe he'll be giving the powers?
:: I'm really not trusting the angels anymore. Zachariah's attitude in the clips and the whole "God has left the building" line doesn't really instill any hope in me. Meanwhile, Castiel's loyalty is still under question.
:: I'm really thinking Ruby is going to be casualty of this episode. Hopefully Bobby will not be another one. His only scene is at the beginning and from the 2nd DC clip we can see he's back at his house with Dean. Can't imagine him being killed there.
:: Will Sam go completely darkside? Quite possibly, but if he does I hope Dean can find a way to bring him back.
:: Since the prophet Chuck is in this eppy, I'm wondering if Dean will bring him along to help take out Lilith? After all, it worked the last time when Chuck's archangel showed up.
:: In the DC clip, Zachariah brings up Dean's oath of obedience, but like I said in my review of 4x21....Dean didn't recite it word for word, so I'm hoping there's a loop hole here that he can use.
:: It's good to see Sam sad and remorseful over the fight with Dean. It gives me hope that if given the chance that he will patch things up with his big brother. Meanwhile, it's a little disheartening to see Dean so willing to give up on Sam. No wonder Bobby went all ballistic on him. Go Bobby!!!!
:: Rumor has it there will be a huge cliffhanger. Eeep! Kripke wants to really torture us this summer. Damn, he's good. :P
