My mom & I went off for a little drive out in the country yesterday afternoon. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we've both been itching to get out of the house. So we packed up some snacks, some water, and some appropriate traveling music and headed off in the car to see just how far we could get in a few hours.

We ended up driving way south of Tacoma and Puyallup, in all the lush, green countryside. Passed many small and big farms and ranches. Saw lots of horses, cows, even some goats and sheep. At one point we got completely lost even with all the maps we had, lol! But eventually we found our way back to civilization.

We wound our way back up through Spanaway and Graham, which is where I took these lovely photos of Mt. Rainier. It's much closer than we can see from the area where we live, so it was a treat to see it looming so large over the trees. Btw, it had been completely hidden by clouds when we started out, but by late afternoon most of the clouds had cleared out.

These were taken from a small airfield in Graham. I never tire of seeing this mountain. I might be a bit biased, but I happen to think it's the most beautiful mountain in the world. Sometimes when we have a stretch of bad weather it'll be hidden by clouds for days or weeks and when it re-emerges it's always a wonderful sight to see. We can't actually see it from our house, but you just have to go probably about a mile (maybe less) down the road from our neighborhood and you can see the mountain in all it's glory.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of the photos with all of you. It was just the perfect way to end a wonderful drive.
