A smile costs nothing....
Jun. 12th, 2007 05:46 amTime for another status report. A mini Dean picspam, some news, some squeeing, some giddiness....hey, I'm one day away from my birthday nothing says I have to be mature. :P
* It happened just like I said it would - I'm way behind in my replies again. A week behind to be exact. I'll catch up this weekend, I promise!
* Because of my birthday this week I'm sort of giving myself the week off from the picspams. No Tuesday SPN picspam and no DA picspam on Wednesday. There will however, be a Thursday SPN picspam. It might be up a little late, but I want to post it so I get back on track with my episode list. And to those of you who responded to this post about showing how I make my picspams, you'll be happy to hear I'm working on it. I'm kind of chronicling the capping of Thursday's picspam (for TUS, btw). So hopefully, by the weekend I'll be able to post it as well and you'll have a little "making of" post for Thursday's picspam.
* Speaking of capping, I just found an amazing media player for capping. *let the giddiness begin* It's called GOM Player and this thing will play virtually any video file that exists. There's a ton of controls and it's got some super cool features, many of which just made my capping days way easier! I tried it out on TUS to experiment and it did a great job! It's freeware, doesn't use up a lot of system resources, and plays DVDs, too. If I had one complaint as a capper, it would be that you can only go frame by frame forward and not backward, but it has a way of jumping back 1 second at a time which isn't a bad compromise. The other day I installed the VLC Media Player, which is supposed to be a good player. I was greatly disappointed. I was hoping it would be good for capping, but it would only save the images as jpegs. I like to save them as bitmaps initially for the good quality. You could, suposedly change the settings to bmp, but it wouldn't change and kept saving them as jpegs! Grrrrr! So I'll be uninstalling VLC. GOM is way better & saves the images as bitmaps! I just played around with it for about half an hour and I was impressed. I highly recommend it!
* I'm so happy the Name That Screencap idea has taken off. When I first tried it last week, I wasn't sure how everyone would react to it. But people seem to enjoy it. I got 17 people to guess on the first one and I've already got about that amount on the second one. I gotta say, though, it's hard to find caps that people won't be able to identify easily. We all know these episodes backwards and forwards and many of the scenes are firmly ingrained in our minds. Plus, a lot of scenes are just obvious - can't do hardly anything from Folsom Prison Blues (hello, orange jumpsuits), or from IMTOD (hospital, scars) just to name a few. At the same time I have to make it challenging without being so difficult no one has a clue what episode the caps came from. I'm avoiding any scenes at night in the Imapala for this very reason. They practically all look alike!
* Got special plans for my birthday with my best friend (I'm calling her GeckoGirl here). *waves to her cause she reads my LJ* Hey sweetie!!!! We've been friends since our first day of high school (18 years!). We don't live too far from each other, but we don't see each other as much as we'd like because of our busy lives. So Wednesday is going to be extra special. We'll be spending some time talking (and boy, can we talk!) and then we're going to go see "Ocean's 13". *squeeeee* I'm so excited! And even though I'm a George Clooney fan, I just might start imagining Jensen as Danny Ocean. *g* We'll have to wait and see. :D GeckoGirl, I'm sooooo grateful to have you as my best friend. You're the best! I know we're going to have a great time!
And now for a mini Dean picspam, just because I want to! I chose caps from the Pilot because it aired on Sept. 13th and my birthday's on June 13th. Heehee! Gotta have a little Jensen loveliness in this post! I made these uber quick, btw, so the quality's not the greatest - plus they're from a downloaded avi file instead of the DVDs because I was lazy. But Jensen still looks great, so who cares!
Btw, the cap of him in the car...I love it because it's like you're sitting in the backseat of the Impala! I wish they'd do more shots like this from that particular angle. Ridin' with the boys! Hee! :D
