What to do about old comments

raloriaI'm at the college taking advantage of their wonderful high-speed internet connection and downloading lots of SPN related goodies. I'm also trying to get caught up on all my replies to comments. Problem is...I found out I left off on June 4th last time. That's a long time ago (3 weeks)!
So I'm looking at the comments and thinking "that's a lot of comments to reply back too and will people (especially those not on my flist) wonder what the heck took me so long to get back to them?".
So here's my question: What is too long a period to reply to LJ comments? Should I even bother replying to the oldest ones? Maybe just selected ones, especially if someone asked a question or prompted a discussion?
Help me out gang. What do you do about old comments on your LJ? Do you reply to all of them no matter what? Or are you selective once a certain amount of time goes by?
