We finish off this week's picspams for What Is And What Should Never Be with 59 caps of Sam.

As I stated on Tuesday's Picspsam, these are not the best quality because of my experimenting with new software to make my caps. And while this was a Dean-centric episode, I was genuinely surprised by how many caps were made with Sam.

What Is And What Should Never Be - Sam

Sammy as research boy! Even a little arm porn thrown in.

I love the 3rd cap because you can really see the color of his eyes, which is a rarity.

A very nice set of caps from this scene with Sam accusing Dean of drunk dialing him.

He's got such a nice smile! I added the last two caps for this row at the last minute. I didn't include any of Dean from this scene because the color was way over-saturated, but the ones of Sam aren't as bad.

I really enjoyed the whole restaurant scene. I like the sort of soft focus look of the first cap, makes it seem dream-like. So nice to see Jess and Sam together again. And sigh...the engagement that never was...

A big hug from mom (awwwww!) and a goofy, cheesy grin.

Now we get to one of my favorite scenes of the eppy. Sam just doesn't understand Dean's behavior.

The second cap just kind of breaks my heart, with Dean literally reaching out to Sam. But Sam pulls away because in this reality the brothers don't share the bond they have in real life.

I often go on about all of Jensen's facial expressions, but Jared shows his range in this scene.

As you can tell, this scene was capped heavily.

Sam: "I guess we just don't really have anything in common" Talk about a painful stab in the heart for Dean! To think that the brothers just aren't close is so hard to except.

Dean tries one last time, by bringing up hunting, but Sam knows nothing about it. Great lighting in this scene, though. Gorgeous highlights on his eyes, too.

Excellent callback to the Pilot, except Jared's much more built now than he was then...check out that massive arm! And again in the two-shot with Dean...like...whoah.

A nice profile shot in the second cap. Sam: "Because you're still my brother." It's great to see that even though they're not close, Sam isn't going to let Dean put himself in danger alone. The fourth cap is a great closeup from the scene where Dean's about to stab himself with the knife.

That's the same shirt he wore at the end of CSPWDT. The dramatic red color scheme of this motel room is quite striking. The last cap is one of my favorites.
