Did ya miss me?
Jul. 9th, 2007 04:33 amI'm baaaaaaccccckkkk!
Two days away from the computer and so much has happened. So many new photos! But more about them in a little bit.
* Turns out my panic over the car was nothing. Friday and Saturday it ran just perfectly, so whatever I heard before was something someone was doing in the neighborhood. Phew! What a relief it was when I realized the car was alright. Then I felt like an idiot. But I guess, with the way things have been going between me and technology lately, I'm a bit gunshy.
* Had a wonderful time on Saturday at my cousin's house. We all got the biggest surprise when we arrived and found out they had 2 new kittens!!!! I nearly mowed my dear cousin down to get in the house fast enough to see them! LOL! They are simply adorable and we spent most of our visit there just watching their playful antics. They're brothers, named Frankie and Onion. I suddenly realized how much I missed being around cats. I took not only photos of them, but shot a whole hour of video of them as well.
Here's a couple of photos of them sleeping after they'd worn themselves out playing and wrestling with each other:
This is Frankie. So named because he has beautiful blue eyes, just like 'ol blue eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.

And this is Onion. Named that because his coloring looks like an onion skin.

We had a great dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, and green leaf salad (with raspberries, yum!). It was perfect weather, too, not too hot or cold, so we ate outside on their deck, surrounded by their garden flowers.
* Just finished capping the next DA episode for Wednesday's post and then the next 2 episodes also. Still have to cap for this week's SPN picspams.
* I'm trying to get caught up in my online class. It's a history of cinema course and we naturally have to watch a lot of movies. Many video clips are provided for us from online sources such as Google Video and YouTube. We're starting at the very beginning of film, with the silent pictures. I'm half way through "Birth Of A Nation" (it's 3 hours!) and I've watched some Buster Keaton films and one with Lillian Gish. I've seen "Birth Of A Nation" before, but it's been a while. We've also been watching "The Great Train Robbery", "A Trip To The Moon", and "Battleship Potemkin". I like silent films. They take you back to that time, when life was much different than it is now. From a filmmaking standpoint, it's interesting to see the beginnings of many of the practices that are now standards - like closeups, montages, dolly shots, iris transitions.
* I'd like to give a little shoutout to a few on my flist who aren't doing so well. To Tina
serenity151979 -- hope you're feeling better soon! To Betina
betgirl -- sorry to hear about your sprained ankle (ouch!). Take care, okay? And of course, to Sue
moondropz, my fellow picspammer, I want to wish you a speedy recovery from your eye surgery. I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses all your lovely Jensen picspams! Big hugs from me to each of you! *HUGS* :)
* There's some lovely new photos of Jensen from the latest Hollywood Life magazine. I've made a few icons as you can see by the one for this post and I'll be posting them separately very soon. Plus, there's some new images from S1 and S2 of SPN at this website: http://www.sergeiphoto.ca/stills%20photography.htm . Big thanks to
fabilimah for both of these links!
* Oh, and to
i_o_r_h_a_e_l, who wanted to know about this icon?

It's from Simon Said when Dean says "Awesome" at Andy using his powers on the old guy in the county records room ("These aren't the droids you're looking for"). And sorry I couldn't answer your question over on
dean_sam, but the comments are being screened for the challenge, so I couldn't reply back to you there.
