This episode marks a big turning point in DA's second season. Ben's murderous acts get Alec arrested, which prompts Max to once again save him from White's clutches. It gives the two of them the chance to finally talk about Ben and reach some understanding in their rocky relationship. Meanwhile, Max & Logan touch, sending him to the ER, which prompts Max to finally decide it's best to stay away from him. And Joshua winds up saying a sad goodbye to his new friend, Annie, after a transgenic is killed by the city police on TV. It's all about relationships. One gets closer and all the others are pulled apart as White starts pulling his net even tighter around the former Manticore community.

In Part One: Alec tells Asha it's best that they not get involved with each other.

Part 1 -

Alec at the Crash Bar, holding court. Heh. He just looks at home there. Then he spots Asha at the other end of the bar. Oh, yeah, almost forgot to point out how much I love it when he looks over his shoulder like that. *thud*

Alec: "You avoiding me?" Asha: "No. But I gotta say that I'm really glad that nothing happened that night."

She's referring to what happened in the ep "Borrowed Time" when she went home with him from Crash. Alec: "Yeah, me to." Asha: "Probably works for days, huh? Your whole 'Time is short. You gotta put your heart on the line. Baby, I want you' speech." Look, I even got a cap with his eyes closed!

*Guh* It's the leather jacket again. *thud* The hair is nice, too. Not too perfect, but not too messy.

Oh, the Alec smile! So adorable! But he's about to give poor Asha the brush-off. Alec: "Look, you don't want to get involved with me."

"I mean, I was made in a lab, you know? I spent my formative years learning the fine art of assassination." Love the little frown in the last cap.

"There are guys out there right now looking to kill me...and I'm sure someday they'll probably succeed." But Asha's not going down without a fight. Asha: "Spare me the drama. You're just too scared to let go and actually care about someone."

These side closeups are beautiful! Alec: "Right, because the last time I let go...somebody got caught in the crossfire and died." Referencing Rachel from Berrisford Agenda. He then swiftly tells her to leave him alone, which she does.

Poor Asha! She's rejected by everyone. Logan's in love with Max and the one cute guy who's available just told her to beat it.

Time for Max to give Alec a hard time again. Max: "So, what'd you do now?" Alec: "Why am I always the bad guy with you, Max?"

Max: "Whatever. You wanna blow your shot with her, be my guest." You know, he's mighty sexy leaning over the bar like that, drink in hand. Not that he isn't sexy any other time...
