A new avenue of my online existence
Dec. 3rd, 2009 04:46 amMade the big decision to delete my old Blogger account. It's the one I started for my filmmaking musings, which I've since moved over into a separate LJ account. So no big loss, really. Been meaning to do it, just never had the motivation before.
What would prompt such a move? I've created a new blog on Blogger, with the goal of sharing old music recordings. I frequent many music sharity blogs, as they're known, and I figure with our huge music collection I could do some sharing of my own. Of course, in the back of my mind I'm thinking, "Great. I need another online journal like I need a hole in my head." LOL
We have lots of vinyl records (45s, 78s, 33 1/3rds), reel-to-reel tapes, and cassette tapes. I won't just be working from our own records, but those of some of our relatives as well that I've borrowed & recorded. I know a lot of them are difficult to find or non-existent. I think even my mom was wondering about doing something like this. She asked me, "What would it take to put music online like those sites?" (referring to the sharity blogs). Truth be told, I've been considering this for years, but was hesitant to make that big step, but now I figure, "What the heck? Let's go for it." I think it'll be fun. ;)
I'll let you know when I have my first recordings up and invite you all to check it out. I'm going to try to get some Christmas tunes up to kick things off.
