It's been a rough couple of days, but things are finally improving around here.

To keep it short, my mom started taking a medication for diabetes at the beginning of this month. Right away she was hit with terrible side effects and they never went away, in fact they started to increase and get worse, so much so, that by Wednesday morning she was very sick. I urged her to stop taking the meds and we made a doctor appointment for her on Thursday afternoon. All Wednesday she was feeling miserable and was physically sick a couple of times. She barely ate and I was stressed out and worried about her continuing worsening condition. Neither one of us got very much sleep.

I got her to the doctor yesterday afternoon and he said he'd never seen anyone have such a bad reaction to that drug. He's going to put her on something very different once she's feeling better and he has all her blood-work results back. He prescribed a medication for her nausea, which was terrible and constant from Wednesday morning. Luckily, it seems to be working and she's finally eaten a little something and appears to be feeling much better. I can finally relax.

I'm tired, sleepy, have a headache, and my right arm aches. Bleh. Definitely looking forward to finally sleeping in my bed tonight. The stress all Wednesday and the first part of Thursday was so draining. My stomach was in knots from worrying and it's such a relief just to not feel that anymore. I was seriously thinking she might end up in the hospital and I'm so glad she didn't have to go that route.

I wanna thank [livejournal.com profile] trystan830 & [livejournal.com profile] maferi_nah for being such great IM buddies and being there for me to talk to when I was such a stressed out mess. *hugs you both tight*
