It's been many months since VanCon, so perhaps writing about it all now is more than a little crazy. However, it was my first convention experience and I can easily say one of the best weekends of my life. I still look back on those 6 days with great fondness and hopefully I'll be able to remember the important stuff. ;)

All photos in these post reports were taken by me (except for the top/header image of the city). Feel free to take, re-post & use for fanart, icons, etc., but please give me credit for the photos. Thanks!
If you saw my first posts after the con of my photos & downloaded/saved them, please note - the pics in these report posts have been fixed and re-sized larger than the ones offered before. There are also more, unseen photos here (generally). Yes, they are all watermarked. I did this so I can identify which photos are mine if they're used elsewhere online.
Day Three (Saturday)
An earlier morning to start the next day of the convention. There was another breakfast at the White Spot and then I was on my way to the hotel. Aldis Hodge had the first panel of the day at 11:05 a.m., so I left a little early so I could take some photos of St. Andrews Church and the hotel itself. It was another gorgeous weather day, with the sun shining. The city streets were already bustling with activity and I was finding my walk between hotels quite enjoyable.
The pics I took of the church will be posted with the rest of the filming locations in an upcoming post. Here are the photos of the Sheraton Wall Centre though. :)
I headed straight down the 2 floors to the theater and my seat buddies were already there. They caught me up on Steve's concert, along with the Karaoke party. I was a little sorry I missed out on them, but I was glad I'd had time to have a proper supper, too. Truth is, I ate very little those 3 days, basically surviving on the breakfasts and dinners from White Spot and nothing else.
Aldis Hodge
Keep in mind, at this time I only knew Aldis as Jake on his two episodes of SPN. I have since seen him on Leverage and fallen for him in a whole new way! I wish I'd seen the show back then, because he did talk an awful lot about it and while nearly everyone else was a Leverage fan, I was not and I felt kinda out of the loop. Still, Aldis was a total charmer. He started with asking us to shout out a greeting to his girlfriend over his phone, which we rocked at! :D Again, most of his time was spent talking about Leverage, though he did ask several times for us not to hate him because his character killed Sam. I remember him saying something about just reading the words and it not being his fault. Hee! It was cute when he got to talking about his favorite video games, too. He really is a geek! LOL He also discussed about having parents who were in the military and how that effected his auditioning mentality. He also mentioned not getting a role when he was 12 and being scared at not knowing why. Then he found out he and his friend who also auditioned were more funny than the leads on the show, so that's why they didn't get the parts. And I gotta thank some of the video clips out there on YouTube for that last one. I couldn't remember the details. :P

Jake Abel
With a quick music video intermission it was then Jake's panel and this was his first convention and the guy seemed a little nervous at first with his coffee and bottle of water, but once he got to talking that all faded away and he regaled us with stories like he was an old convention pro. He was another guest that totally charmed everyone in the room. He shared stories of filming the scene from "Jump The Shark" where Jared was tied down to the table while he and the other actress played ghouls feeding off him. The bit about stabbing the knife into the table was total improvisation by Jake and then he realized it probably made Jared really nervous, but Jared was cool and trusted him. He also related that the fake blood does NOT taste good at all. Heh. I vaguely recall him talking about getting his eye injured as a kid and he wanted a cool eyepatch but didn't end up with one. I think my favorite part of his panel was when he talked and imitated Jensen. "He's got that...that voice" He totally nailed it, too! Too cute how he said he tried to imitate it in the scene where Sam's being dragged under the truck and Adam yells for Dean. And of course, Jake was the one who spilled the beans to the fans about Jared's "Fartacus!" character. Hee! We got a lot of use out of that over the weekend. :P
Such a sweetheart. I wish now I'd gotten a photo-op with him.

With photo-ops for Aldis and Jake going on (and me not having tickets for those) I hung out in the Grand Ballroom Theatre with my seat buddies. I do recall, however, making a run back to my hotel room during this time. Not sure what for anymore, but I do know when I got back Steve was already doing his panel. Luckily, I didn't miss much though. I didn't attend his concert at the Con Friday night (though I now wish I had), but it was still nice to hear him talk about his music and friendship with Jensen. *g* I remember him talking about his singing gig for the upcoming episode of Eastwick (still miss that show!) and that we'd be surprised by the song choice. I wish I could remember more about his panel, I really do. Sadly, there's hardly any videos out there of it either.

AJ Buckley & Travis Wester
There wasn't much of a break before we were taken over by the GHOST! GHOSTFACERS!!!!!! :D As with all the guests all weekend, these two were a bundle of fun! Such wacky, silly guys. Travis only sat in the chair for a couple of minutes before he was up on his feet and then he never stopped moving. Made it real tough to take pictures of him, believe me. AJ, thankfully, stayed in his chair for the most part. They shared stories of their travels and AJ pointed out the tattoos on his arms with the names of his parents. Awww. One of the highlights of their panel was when Adam pointed out to them that they were being put on video for the 2 big screens on either side of the stage. Acting like 3 year olds, they had to get down off the stage to check themselves out on the screen! LOL They also talked about filming "Ghostfacers" in S3 and how the gal who played Maggie was so short she had to hold her videocamera way up in the air. There was also talk about Jared being so tall and picking AJ up when they first met and Jensen coaxing him to put him down. Oh, and Travis acting out Jared laying down on the ground laughing over the "chisel chest" line from the "Ghostfacers" eppy was great, too.

Misha Collins
More music videos and a Sci-Fi Collectibles Auction (which didn't really have that many SPN items) and the great Misha was about to take the stage. During the down-time before his panel I was going up to the Vendor's room floor on the escalator. As I went up to the floor above the Grand Ballroom Theatre, I saw a man approaching a door on the right (turns out it was the Green Room). As I got closer, I could see it was Misha! He tried to open the door, but it didn't work. He saw me coming up on the escalator, and said, "I can't get in." LOL He tried again and the door opened and he went in. Thing is, I was so busy looking at him that I almost tripped as I reached the top of the escalator! :P Mesmerized by Misha! I eagerly told my little sighting to my seat buddies and they squeed with delight and jealousy that I got to see Misha first!
Onto the panel of our great Minion Leader! What can you say about Misha? He never fails to entertain. Hardly any question (which he took directly from the audience, thus breaking Creation's rules - Ha!) was answered seriously, but then we've come to expect this from him. One of my favorite bits was when he tried to explain his activity on Twitter to his buddies. "Guys- Co-workers um I on Twitter I- ...it made me feel uncomfortable when I logged on and saw that people who were following me were called "Followers" .. I thought that was demeaning... so I called them minions and now things have gotten a bit out of control." LOL! Oh, and him talking (and showing off Castiel's fighting style) was hilarious. "Hey, can you make the angel not such a wuss." Btw, one of my seat buddies was the gal who asked Misha "How does Cas really feel about Dean?" which led to yet another brilliant answer in which he wanted to talk about slash but the audience didn't want him to. So he did anyway...sorta. :P "I know,I know, it haunts the back of my mind knowing that it exists. It's wrong, no I'm not judging, I'm not... It's not wrong, it's just weird." Then of course, there was the whole thing with the black construction paper and the eggs. :P It was kind of amazing how many people brought eggs! Makes me wonder what he'll have us bring this year. Btw, it wasn't until I got home and was really looking at my photos that I noticed you can see the scars on his arms from the bicycle accident he was in earlier in 2009.

After Misha's panel it was time for his photo-ops and you can read & see that here. Then the return to the Grand Ballroom Theatre for all the autographs with the guests that day. As with all the autographs, this took a while, so most of us just hung out in the room and chatted. I think I did go around and visited with some of my flisters though like
country_bee and
keyweegirlie. :) Luckily, while even in the 8th row, I got my autographs (read about and see them) and then returned to my hotel before 10 p.m. so I could still have supper at the White Spot restaurant there with my mom. I'd miss out on the Dessert Party that night, but that didn't start until around 10:30 and I had to catch up online, back-up my photos to my laptop, and try to get some sleep for the next day. All in all, an exhausting but very fun second day of the convention and the best was yet to come! Had to get to bed to get up extra early for the Sunday Breakfast with Jensen, Jared, and Jim! *squee* :D
Hope you enjoyed this look back at the 3rd day of my VanCon weekend!
