I'm going to try to post one or two several seasonal/holiday songs a day. These will come from either my own CD collection or my online findings. I'll try my best to make a post each day and we'll see how many I can get done by Christmas day. These songs will run the gamut: from traditional to modern takes on old classics. There will be country, pop, jazz, oldies, big band, new age, comedy....anything and everything. And don't think that if you don't celebrate Christmas that there won't be anything for you. Not all of the offerings will be specific to Christmas. Some will be just about winter. They will all be favorites of mine and I'll give you some info. and why it's my fave with each song. Happy Listening!

Note: I'm using SendSpace for all of these downloads. If you have any trouble getting a song and would like me to use MegaUpload instead, just let me know and I'll try to get it up for you there.

I will also have each of these posts available to all for one week and then will Friends lock them.

Day 16 --

After the silliness of yesterday, I'm going with a much softer and more mellow set of tracks today.

The Christmas Waltz -- By Frank Sinatra from "A Jolly Christmas from Frank Sinatra".

A lovely, gentle waltz from Frank. Take a twirl out on the dance floor.

Ave Maria -- By Celine Dion from "These Are Special Times".

There are many recordings of this classic, but I really enjoy this version by Celine Dion.

C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S -- By Eddy Arnold from " Christmas With Eddy Arnold".

Another favorite from the Eddy Arnold Christmas album.

White Christmas -- By The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra from "Christmas Choral Classics".

I love the classic Bing Crosby version, but this is a close second. I just love choral music and this track is a great example.

*** I'd love a comment if you're downloading any of the songs, thanks! ***

I was out shopping for some last minute Christmas cards with my mom earlier today and I've just got to rant about a few pet peeves of mine.

I realize sales people are just being helpful (they think), but I'm sick of them coming up to us when we're talking and asking if we need any help. Not only do they rudely interrupt our conversation (I'm usually in mid sentence!), they break my train of thought. I've had this happen numerous times and it pisses me off! I'm trying to have a conversation with someone! Do I look like I'm asking for anyone's help???? And yet these clerks feel the need to barge right in to be "helpful". I don't need your help, I need you to leave us alone. When I want your help, I'll come to you. Oh, and it would help me a lot if when I actually did go looking for you for said help, if you were actually around. I don't know how many times I've been in a store and when I need help can't find a single soul to answer my question. They're all over the place when you know what you're looking for, but the second you need assistance? They're gone. One more annoyance....Don't pounce on me the second I walk in the door asking if I need help with anything. I do have two eyes and two working legs. I think I'm capable of at least trying to search for the item I need. At least give me the opportunity. Sheesh!

Oh, and these rants aren't just for the Christmas shopping season, either. I run into this stuff all year long. It's just that I had two clerks interrupt my conversation with my mom in a store one too many times tonight and if it happened again, I'm sure I would've exploded. It's inconsiderate and rude! I swear, next time one of those clerks breaks into our conversation and asks if I need any help, I'm gonna say, "Yeah, I need you not to rudely interrupt us. We're talking here. Thank you!". Grrrrrrr! >:[

Bah. I've got a headache now. I'm probably gonna take a mini nap and then get caught up on my flist. Been away from the computer for a couple of days now and I know I'm behind on things. Thanks for letting me rant, folks. *hugs flist*
