A plea to anyone at LA Con

If I could put the request out there for a question to be asked today at LA Con it would be this...

I'd ask Jensen what happened to Dean's ring and the skull bracelet?

I double-checked and they've been gone since 5x08 "Changing Channels". I could probably live without the bracelet, but that ring's been on his hand since day one and I truly miss it.

First, they took away the amulet necklace and then his other jewelry. WTH is up with that?
Sure, the necklace has a history and now is being used by Cas to find God, but why strip Dean of the others?
I know Kripke or someone said that the ring wasn't important to the storyline. Well, I don't care. Dean always wears that ring and now to have it simply disappear without any explanation? It's wrong....just....wrong!

Impala Sunday and we have Dean driving his baby....solo. No wonder he looks sad. No baby brother riding shotgun. Always bad when the boys are apart and this was the first example. :(
Burned more CDs Saturday, until I got sick of it. Thankfully, I also got my HD download of 5x15 and made my caps! Now I can do my review and start making my B&W Fanart. :D Got my Sunday tasks set. Yep. Looking forward to hearing all the goodies from the boys at LA Con today. Hopefully nobody will ask any embarrassing or offensive questions. Just once, let's show that we can be cool, level-headed fans with some common sense, huh? Happy Sunday everyone! *hugs*

Dean's Missing Ring Question Answered

Yay!!!! So somebody did ask about the ring at the breakfast this morning at LA Con! Sweet!

Thanks to a_way_of_sin for typing up the answer from the audio. :)

What happened to Dean's ring? "There was an opportunity at the beginning of the season to kind of lose the jewelry. He lost his watch, he lost his uuhh...his necklace obviously went to Cas. Here's the thing with the ring, the ring was a really, for me, it was Dean's beer bottle opener. Whenever Dean opened a bottle it would just scrape off the ring, it got beat up." He also cut himself apparently. "So once they were losing the watch and I was like, you know what, let's get rid of the ring. This is the Apocalypse. So I just lost it, it was like let's get rid of this we've had it on for 5 years" They got rid of it after episode 4 The End.

Well, okay. First of all, I don't see where he lost his watch. Maybe he's confusing it with the bracelet? Kinda sounds like a flimsy excuse ("This is the Apocalypse") and I wish they'd at least given some reason on the show for it being gone. However, I can understand if Jensen was simply tired of wearing it, especially if it was getting all beat up and cutting him. Ow. You'd think the props dept. would have extras. Anyway...*sigh* it's an answer.

I still miss the ring, probably always will. It was as much a trademark of Dean as his leather jacket.

I sense an "Ode to Dean's Ring" picspam cropping up in the near future.
