Pondering about 12x09

Got to thinking about the episode (after reading other's thoughts) and I realized something.

Yeah, the boys kicked ass in escaping from the soldiers and it was great to watch but...
they were just humans.

I mean, if they'd been running from demons, witches, werewolves, or anything else I don't think the boys would have looked nearly as impressive - and probably would have been hurt in the process. Goodness knows we've seen this in the past.

Does this really take away from them defeating the soldiers though?
Not necessarily. The fast and effective way they took out the men showed how well trained and strong they are. They were smart - luring the soldiers in with the lamp, setting the trap, shooting them from below the floor.

Just my late-night ponderings. :)
