To those of you who've been waiting...I hope this review doesn't dissappoint. I apologise again for the delay. I think my cold is getting better...slowly. Oh well, some improvement is better than no improvement at all.

So here is my review along with 64 caps. The caps are taken from my DVD recording of the episode directly off the air and unfortunately are not of the best quality. The TV reception was not the greatest for me that night, so they're a little grainy. I fixed them up for size, color, contrast, and sharpness as best I could.

If you choose to take any of the caps for graphics, etc. I would still appreciate a credit. Thank you!

Okay, first impressions...two words...whoah Jared! Never before have I been more impressed and bowled over by Jared Padalecki! The things he did in this episode just blew me away. The darkness, the pain, the sadness, and the evil turns were coming fast and furious and Jared handled them all. That, coupled with the twists and turns of the episode made for an amazing hour of television in my book. I kept wondering if all the spoilers were going to turn out to be true (they were) and then I kept wondering what could possibly happen next. This ep kept me on the edge of my seat. Now that's great television! Did I get my angst-o-rama I was hoping for? No. Well, except for the whole "shoot me Dean" scene in the motel room, but we can discount that now that we know it was PossessedSammy that whole time. Dammit!

Okay, on with the review...

* Rain! What'd I tell you? It rained a lot around here in Nov/Dec. I knew we'd be seeing a lot of rain in these episodes. *pumps fist* I love it when I'm right. :) Btw, Jensen looks cold in this opening scene.

* Sam's been gone a week...no wonder Dean's going out of his mind. The jump-cutting was kind of interesting and almost made me think my dream/nightmare theory was correct. I was kind of dissappointed we didn't hear Sam's end of the phone conversation. I was all ready to hear an aguished Sam calling his big brother for help. Oh well. And they totally recycled that shot of the Impala from Phantom Traveller.

* I loved Dean's panicked "Oh my God!" when he saw all that blood on Sam's shirt.

* Richard Sambora! LOL! Who else had a flashback to the "Day In The Life" extra on the S1 DVD set with Jensen wearing that big hair wig. Come on, you know you did. ;)

Haha! I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that bug and then Dean's line...
Dean: "Aw, please tell me you didn't steal this!"

Sam: "You think I used this on someone?"
Dean: "I'm not thinkin' anything."

But you can see it on his face, what Dean's thinking isn't good. Great work by Jensen.

* Aw, man! Loved hearing the little "ding, ding" at the gas station! Brings back great memories. Oh the good ole days...when you'd drive up to a service station (called that because they actually gave you service, not just gas) a guy would come out and not only fill up your tank for you but clean the windows and check your oil and tire pressure! Nah, I'm not that old. Why do you ask? Seriously.

* "What? Am I speakin' Urdu?" LMAO! Kudos to the writers for giving one of the funniest lines to a guest star. This guy cracks me up!

* And it was kind of amusing having Dean tell Sam to go wait in the car like he's a little kid. *snort*

* What did Dean grab from in front of the counter before he left the gas station? I'm assuming it's some candy, but I couldn't make it out. Anyone want to take a guess?

* Dean has complete faith in Sam. He's determined not to see anything bad happen to his brother...so much that he's got explanations for the stored car, the knife, and then the dead body. He wants to believe Sam had a good reason for killing that guy (self defense, etc.). Poor Dean! How is he possibly going to deal with things when and if Sam does turn? He'll be in such denial about it.

* The video footage is kind of funky looking. Maybe it's the overhead angle? Not exactly the graceful Sammy we all know. And btw, why would a hunter have video cams set up inside the house. Outside I get, but inside? Seems a little overkill.

* Dean's reaction to watching the video footage was perfect - horror and then worry as he looks over at Sam. He then goes into protective mode and decides they've got to hide all the evidence. Loved how he just picks up the computer and smashes it. When my hard drive goes caput someday, can Dean come over to smash it for me? Please?

* Guh! The scene back in the motel room just kills me. Oh the angst! Gotta love it! Granted, after the initial viewing, some of the impact is lost because we know now it wasn't really Sam talking but DemonMeg back from Hell, but if you can go back in time a bit - it still works. Sam giving Dean a gun to kill him "I don't wanna hurt anyone else. I don't wanna hurt you." and all the emotions between them in that moment "You know I've tried so hard to keep you safe" "I know". Geez Kripke! Just rip my heart out, why don't you. And then Dean refusing and whispering "I can't" followed by an almost declaration of "I'd rather die". *heart cries for Dean*

* That sudden turn around was shocking "You'll live...you'll live to regret this." Whammo! And Dean falling down in slow motion was a nice touch! Ouch! Poor Dean again!

* Again, my praise for Jensen's acting skills knows no bounds. The guy always puts his all into even the subtle little things that other actors seem to miss. Check out how he struggles and winces a bit when he gets up off the floor. I love it whenever Jensen adds those little moments. They make Dean a real human being, not just some superhero who shows no pain or discomfort. Love his bewilderment as he approaches the motel manager at the door too..."what?". Heehee!

* Justin Timberlake! LOL! Guess old DemonMeg forgot about the GPS feature on Sam's phone. Three cheers for SmartDean, though for thinking of this feature to track Sam down.

* I missed seeing Alona Tal's name in the credits, so I was completely surprised to see her. I like the new look, btw. Jo not only acts more mature, but she looks a little older now too with the new hairstyle. And I just gotta say that her radar should've gone off when Sam showed up without Dean. I mean, really, Sam doesn't go anywhere without Dean. :P

* Oooooh! ScarySammy! I honestly thought he was going to rape Jo. Wow! The places this show is going to this season. *is so impressed* That took guts. I was genuinely frightened for her. And Jared was freaking me out at this point...but in a good way. *g*

* "My daddy shot your daddy in the heeaad." Wow! Jared really delivered in this scene. He was so creepy I was almost squirming in my chair the whole time. *shudders*

* Love the tension of the scene as Dean bursts in and points the gun at Sam. The film slowing down, the music, the closeups....God I love this show! The conversation between the two of them outside was great too! "See this was a test. Wanted to see if I could push you far enough to kill Sam."

* OMG he shot Dean! Okay, I'll never doubt the rumors I hear from TWOP again. They were right!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

* I guess Jo wasn't too pissed off at Dean after all - his number is still in her phone. :P

* Oh wow! HurtWetDean! Gotta love it! And again (yay Jensen!)...I love it when he almost collapses as they're walking. But Jo managed to hold onto him. What can I say? She's grown on me.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

* Heehee! Loved Dean grunting through the pain. "Don't be a baby!" Heh. And him drinking from that bottle while Jo's patching him up....oh so sexy somehow. "You're a butcher." Haha! But why put the bullet in alcohol? Didn't understand that at all. And did you notice that this bullet wound is almost in the same place it was on Alec in the final episode of DA? I thought of that instantly when I saw this scene.

* Jo's getting smarter. She quickly backs off on following Dean to hunt down Sam and then wisely realizes he won't be calling her later despite what he said. I'm glad the writers are finally giving her some maturity. Too bad it was sorely lacking at the beginning of the season.

* Yay for Bobby! This man is smart. Holy water in the beer - pure genius!

* And here we are again under the Key of Solomon. Somehow I just knew we were gonna find out it was Meg possessing Sam (course the "Then" was a big give-away). "Sam's still my meat puppet." Ewww! That line just grosses me out, the same way "trapped inside his own meat suit" did in Devil's Trap. Cool! Bobby gets to read the Latin this time while Dean puts on his serious game face. Oh man! That evil laugh was great! Loved it!

* Whoah! The "new tricks" are mighty impressive. Totally caught Dean and Bobby off guard.

* Aw man! Dean gets beat up, but good. *hugs him* My poor baby. Dean is really having a bad day. Bad enough he gets shot, but then this? Ouch! Jensen, (again!) did a great job of expressing all that pain and mental anquish as his brother/DemonMeg just tortures him.

* "Did I miss anything?" Wham! LOL! I was like..what the hell was that for? Heehee! And then the expression on Dean's face as he collapses back on the floor - priceless! I swear he went crosseyed! Sam's reaction was great too. What the...? :P

Sam: "By the way, you really look like crap Dean."
Dean: "Yeah right back at ya."

Heehee! It's just a variation of "jerk/bitch". Oh the brotherly love...awwwww!

* Great...they've got demons to worry about, Gordon (if he gets out of jail), the Feds, and now fellow hunters. It just keeps getting better and better don't it?

Dean: "You okay?....Sam?....Is that you in there?"
Heh. Still making sure his Sammy's alright. Awww!

Dean: "Now if it's the last thing I do, I'm gonna save you."
*sniffle* Dean is the best big brother.

The promo for the next episode was just bizarre! Almost too weird, really. Didn't really tell us much about the episode either, but then maybe that was the point. Looks like it should be a fun ride, much in the vein of Bad Blood from The X-Files.Will it be the Hell House of S2? We'll have to wait and see.
